Under the Spotlight at the President

I was at the President Wednesday to cash a coupon and played for a bit
on the AA quarter machines. The President has either installed new
lighting or changed the old. I was sitting directly under high-
intensity lights that beamed right into my eyes. So in addition to the
glare from outdoors, this makes the machines REALLY hard to see.

I checked around and these lights appeared to be installed all over the
first floor. Perhaps there's a light cover that hasn't been installed
yet. Otherwise, just another reason that "fullpay" games aren't always
the "best" games, depending on the casino.

I can relate. Every time I play at Ameristar on the 9/6 Jacks machines by the craps tables my eyes start burning after an hour or so of playing. The lights in there are also too bright if you ask me. Does anyone else have this problem? I have brought it up to different hosts, but I don't think any of them have voiced my complaints to anyone who can do something about it.

If none of the casinos will do anything about this, would sunglasses
be a viable alternative?

There is a simple solution to this-take a paper towel out of the restroom, put it in your hand and hold the light bulb and turn counterclockwise until the light goes out, of course, making sure some Admiral employee doesn't see you doing this. End of problem.

Hmmmm. Sunglasses would make the screen too dark for me, but perhaps a
visor or a ballcap. How to look like a poker shark? (g)

I've already been escorted off that boat once. I'd just as soon stay
away of my own volition, rather than take the chance of it happening
again! (g)
