Total Rewards 10X Points Promotion

Thursdays in August -- from 9AM to 11PM -- Total Rewards is offering a 10x reward credit multiplier.

I'm considering visiting a Total Rewards location in Atlantic City playing 0.25 per coin bets on full pay JOB to play this promotion and also playing at a total rewards location for my first time - taking advantage of other benefits including the 6125 bonus tier points for play in one day (daily milestones) and other perks.

This looks like an advantage play putting the 99.45% return to 99.95% just considering the 10x points for a new member (which will increase upon hitting diamond and up. When considering the other perks -- especially considering the bonus 6125 bonus tier points, mailers, etc -- this looks like an advantage play.

What does VPFree think? Which Atlantic City casino, if this is a good play, should I play full pay jacks or better under this promotion? What sort of bankroll should I bring to play? Any other tips? I plan to play on August 22.

Where is this listed?

A couple of clarifications –

The promotion was listed last time I looked on the Atlantic City Caesars properties’ websites and on signage in the casinos. It started during July and applies for all Thursdays through the end of August. I’ve played two Thursdays and had the bonus credited (usually within about 7 days though TR always says within 2 weeks).

The time for earning the bonus is the whole playing day (6 AM Thursday – 5:59 AM Friday) but you must swipe your Total Rewards card at a promotional kiosk between 9 AM and 11 PM Thursday to activate. You can play before and after swiping – it all counts.

The tier bonus is not 6125, it is either 125, 1000 or 5000. You get only the highest that you qualify for. This is automatic, but I’ve had the wrong (lesser) amount credited on two occasions and had to contact Total Rewards at the location involved to get it fixed.

As the vpfree2 listings show there are limited 9/6 JoB machines at the Caesars AC properties, especially at the quarter level. At Harrahs, the 3 quarter machines are often full. I’ve often seen machines open on the Ballys 10 coin quarter (i.e. 50 cent) machines bank – there are no actual .25 JoB there. I believe Caesars 6 progressive .25 JoB are often full. I’ve never played at the Showboat which is listed as having 8.

At $1 there are additional full pay JoB, especially at Ballys. I’ve never been unable to get on one of these. There are also some triple play $1 JoB but a tier point on these is $20 rather than the normal $10 for video poker. Cashback (bounce back) on full pay VP machines is minimal (I get $14 for $25000 coin-in).

Someone else may be able to offer you statistical advice on bankroll requirements. My personal experience with playing 5000 hands a day of $1 JoB (to get the 5000 tier point bonus for 2500 tier points earned) is that on a bad day I may lose 15% of the coin-in amount.

Just wanted to point out that tier credits have no value whereas Reward Credits do. Thus the bonus tier credits that you receive have no value for either comps or cashback purposes.

Sort of kind of. Tier credits improve your cash back exchange rate. but at .25 that's a lot of play. He forgot the gas card discount

They limit the points so it is not as juicy as you think. It is more for day trippers like me that might jump from 500pts to 1000 for this.

Just as an FYI - the bonus points don't "accrue" i.e. 125 for first 500,
additional 1,000 at 1,000 and 5,000 at 2,500 earned. You get 5,000 MAX

All AC casinos are offering this promo but I believe you have to be an
INVITED GUEST not just a TR card holder. I would confirm before running off
to "take advantage" of a promo you may not be eligible for.

A couple clarifications (on clarifications) -

At Ballys, the bank of machines that are mostly .25 10 coin FPJOB:
the leftmost machine is a 5 coin FPJOB. Found out by accident. Its
not in database.

The .25 progressives at Caesars are often busy but I've never waited
more than a few minutes to get on. Very casual players, put in a few
bucks and then hit the road. Was just there this week and could get
a machine any time I felt like it.

There are additional 1.00 FPJOB at Caesars, a few rows away from the
.25 machines. Never very busy.

···

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the 1.00 FPJOB at Ballys were empty most of time (as is most of the casino). Al --- In vpFREE@yahoogroups.com, "V P Streak" <vp10139@...> wrote:

They have to compete in the AC/PHL marketplace or leave. Empty or near empty casinos are a lot more expensive than giving gamblers freeplay or loss rebates. Eventually there will be contraction with fewer casino owners, but in the meantime it's to the advantage for the little properties to promote gambling so they get a better buyout price from the big guys. Right now it's all about market share, the big payouts will come later. The smart casino operators understand this. Of course the ideal situation for a casino is to have a local monopoly, or duopoly like the Vegas strip. AC/PHL will eventually get there, if the regulators allow it. But right now it's in the market share grabing phase. The losers will be the ones that lose market share.
