Plaza/LVC

Anyone check out the new club? Any feedback?

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

We just got back from Vegas...stopped in at The Plaza and did the "$100 on us" and "Tier Match" (Boyd Sapphire got us "King")
To us, even with the renovations at Plaza, it still looked like a dump...
Also, absolutely no good vP at Plaza
And on a side note, a lot of the employees are quite rude.
(Case in point, we only went in to do the $100 loss rebate real quick on a $1 vP and we ordered a water bottle, and since we were only going to be there a minute, we didn't tip the CW, and as she was walking away she said (loudly I might add) "What cheapasses!"

Two wrongs. At least with this thread now the pressure is off BD.

"Real quick on a $1 VP" - really.... kudos to the waitress for commenting on the cheapness - these people work hard and depend on tips to survive - I don't care if it was 5 min or 5 hours - treat people the way you would want to be treated.

Yep, that's it, just a troll.
Fwiw, you people are a great bunch to give so much of you're money away.
And I did not purchase a bottle of water, last time I checked, drink service was complimentary while you were gambling.
No gambler = no drink service

I tip.
I like to tip.
I'm an American, not Asian or European.
Most service staff greatly appreciate gratuities.
I figure I'm at least partly their employer, as well.

I toke $2 per service event, minimum, and then $1 after that,
in a bottle of water or beer situation. I don't count it against
any VP, as I would tip the same if I were at a restaurant, and
I have to eat and drink anyway.

If you want to be grumpy and argue law and semantics, you win.
Personally, I'm happy to have some extra ones in my pocket to
make the valet/waiters/concierge/driver/bellhop/whatever happy.

I even used to bake stuff and bring it on long airplane flights to
pass out to the flight staff and my seatmates. Oh nostalgia.

Anyway, grumpy. It doesn't cost me much on my wildest
times in Las Vegas to tip moderately generously. It's a very
small percentage of my bankroll and expense 'account'.

On the other hand, if I was the Manager of the person you
stiffed, I would have had a talk with them. And then given
them $10 out of my pocket to make it up to them.
She ought not to have called you a name, but...

I ask for a drink and a water and tip one dollar. Unless it's at the Wynn, where it takes $5.00 to get them interested. I also have some favorite waitresses at the Hard Rock, they also get $5.00 on their first visit then $1.00 afterward.

Tips are for service not the drink.

Hey if your a cheapass that's OK. Go get your drink out of the faucett in the restroom. Don't waste that buck on a bottle of water when it is free in the restroom.

When you ask for a service and it is provided and you don't tip that's rude and arrogant not cheap! You are taking advantage of another person because you can get away with it.

Kind of:
$7.25 if you get a health insurance benefit.
$8.25 if you don't.
Interesting approach.
Source:
http://www.dol.gov/whd/state/tipped.htm

Getting into double digits (after the rake from bartender thru mgmt) is very doable. Those (3,300 in Vegas) in the culinary union make over $10/hour base and get "free" health insurance. From googling the subject, t'is >$50K/year gig. Several of our hosts started as servers.

That's what I do. I'm not paying a buck for water. I fill my bottle in the room or bathroom if needed.
I tip a buck-for booze only. That includes my infrequent forays to Wynn, Hard Rock, Cosmo and the like and my regular attendance at the Palms FPDW progressives for many, many years.
Never had a complaint and I order the most top shelf bourbons I can get-or B & B-on the rocks.
