Harrahs STL sending out 'warning' letters

I've heard from a couple friends that have recently received letters 'warning' them about having the audacity to redeem a coupon then leave without playing. One is a VERY low ADT (but VERY high frequency) Diamond who has coupons that are generally in the $10 to $20 range.

Has anyone else received one of these letters? If so, have you been doing a lot of 'cashing and dashing'?

I received one in the mail Friday. I cashed in one $30 coupon last month on a Friday at lunch. I am a 7* with low ADT but high tier score. The notice was not worded as a warning with any consequences, but it was a "reminder" to be sure to put your card in when playing. Riiiiiiight.

I did not receive any cash coupons for the month of March, other than my $50 weekly coupons. As a consequence, I only played a couple of days at Harrah's this month and spent more time (and $) at Ameristar.
The incentives this month sucked - one free buffet on Monday or Tuesday? Great incentive when I get 2 free from them every day of the week.

It seems our Harrahs is doing a great job of sending their guests on the express lane to Ameristar. I know they are trying to save a buck, but I believe it is costing them much more than they are saving.

Somewhat unrelated to this topic...but I went by Harrah's a few days ago and noticed the TBP+ (99.8%) machine was completely turned off on the IBar side. Not "Out Of Service" with a blue screen, but completely turned off. Did they take that game out now, too?

I received a letter, used a food coupon - first time in 10 years I used a coupon and left, am not pleased by the letter. Diamond member, low ADT, many visits until now, may not be back for a while.

I mentioned the letter to my host today, and he said that "someone" goofed and sent the letter to several players that should not have received them.

He said that Harrah's will be sending an apology letter along with some sort of offer to those that should not have been included.

I am assuming the offer will be something along the lines of free parking in the garage, a coupon for a free coffee on the casino floor, or free chairs at the slot machines.

Haha, that was great for a nice chuckle. Harrahs STL hosts are excellent at one thing....and that's towing the company line and feeding players BS that's carefully crafted. The statement above reeks of spin doctor damage control. Unfortunately for them, there's a few of us who're able to see through the rhetoric and translate what they say into actual English.

Here's the English translation....." 'Someone' had every intention of sending the letters out to all players who received one. What 'someone' didn't realize was the blowback 'someone' would incur from players who felt insulted and now 'someone' is scrambling to repair the damage 'someone' created."
