Harrah's Directive Against VP Players?

A friend of mine in AC stopped getting his HET offers (except for free
rooms) last week. His host said that it was due to a national
directive from a bigwig that unprofitable Video Poker players should
have their offers stopped.

I've noticed that I've had no new offers in the last week. Is anyone
else in the same boat? Can anyone confirm the existence of this
directive?

If there is such a directive, evidently they don't consider
me to be in the "unprofitable" group, though I play nothing
but VP. Perhaps I should be insulted! {{O:

I have contimued to receive mailers with good offers, right
up to today.

I rarely play at a HET property. Perhaps they are trying to
intice me to visit them more often.

Sorry, exactly what are HET offers?

You mean the likes of a Bob Dancer is not going to get any HET offers?

Over $100,000 coin-in at Caesars Palace Las Vegas in a single day back
in November has gotten me zilch so far.

Basically, any offers other than free rooms are being curtailed.

Which Harrahs AC property is his dominant property?

I strongly believe this to be essentially correct. I have gotten
first hand accounts from other Harrah's players who have repeated your
friend's story. And no, it hasn't happened to me - yet - but perhaps
I haven't been "lucky" enough recently.

New motto for Harrah's: LOSE, or ELSE!

I am a seven stars Harrah's patron who pretty much exclusively plays
VP at Harrah's Vegas properties.
ALL offers have stopped within the past week or so. Prior to that, I
would usually receive at least one if not more offers per day in my
mail box.
Now I know why...

i play in ac and i am a 7* player as well as my wife. we spoke to our

host, who we have a close relationship with just this sunday and she
advised me that HET is not giving the vp players much anymore .that
they are not valuing their play. she advised me to drain the card for
all its worth until it stops.she advised me that they have already
lost alot of card members play because of this.

You suggest there are some "0" theo machines?

I'm skeptical, but I admit it's conceivable. Such play theo has been
confirmed after play (preferably first-hand)?

A setting of 1% is very likely ... maybe even a little less. I'm hard
pressed to think that they've actually observed anything less than a
1% hold over the longer haul.

I could understand a casino with abundant full-pays (like Atlantis in
Reno) adopting this strategy. Players might return anyway to
play "complessly" for potential winnings only.

But Harrahs? Which 97% machine is the one they feel I cannot live
without?

Yes, I'll make that "suggestion".

On a zero theoretical machine?

I did about 5% of the play on $5 Top Dollar slots to see if that might
help. The rest of the play was on $25/$100 JoB. Actually my offers
does show tickets for 2 to Elton or Bette with no room (ie worthless)
for my non-local address. I had hoped this amount of play would
generate tournament or shopping spree invites.

I can't imagine that $100K c/i in one day, would not net
you some great offers. Particularly at CP, where all the
games are <100%.

Do you have a host at CP? If so, I would certainly call
and ask about future offers.

I'm reading here that many VP players haven't seen a new offer in over
a week. I don't think it's a VP conspiracy. We play mostly slots
(yeah, I know) and haven't received any new offers in 1 1/2 weeks.

Kurt

I am totally mystified by this thread!

Could the restricting directive be aimed at certain players
because of their residence zipcode? Has anyone living the
Midwest been deprived of their offers?

I give Harrahs LESS than 20 hours of action per YEAR! That
playing time is divided between either two or three days,
when I am out of town.

I play ONLY $1.00 9/6JOB, 9/7DB or 8/5BP. i.e. The best VP
that HET has to offer. My total ANNUAL c/i is no more than
$30K if I play at HET two days, or $45K if it's three days.
That is the sum total of play that I've given any HET
property over the past three years. Prior to that, I hadn't
played at Harrahs at all, for over ten years.

Here is some of what I have received during the past one and
a half weeks (exclusive of free rooms which are always
available to me w/o a special offer): Millionare Maker VP
Tourneys, at Horseshoe/Hammond (2 X in Jan.), Food and money
vouchers at HET/SL (2 X in Jan.), Big Game Celebration (no
idea what that is - probably Super Bowl) and Reel Credit
money voucher Harrahs/Ak Chin, Free Dining at NOLA,
Harrahs/Rincon, and Laughlin, Free airfare and entertainment
at Harrahs/Laughlin.

As I said, I am very puzzled.

BTW, for various reasons, I have never used a HET offer.
Could that be why I'm still receiving them?
