Harrah's Directive Against VP Players?

Good possibility. Have you noticed the offers improving since you
don't use them? Sometimes if you hold out and wait, you get a better
offer next time. Of course, if you use offers, they tend to degrade or
disappear. Marketing, what a concept.

The offers may have improved. I'm not sure since I wasn't
consciencely looking for this. I thought the offers were
very nice right from the start.

Twice I reserved offers and than cancelled them, due to
plan changes.

I'm happy to still be receiving offers whatever the reason.
Some day I may even accept one. {{O:

Sweeeeet ... that's right out of the Tao of Steve: "we pursue that
which retreats from us" ...

Tao of Steve:
1. Be desireless (I don't really want to gamble at all)
2. Be excellent in their presence (I have lots of money and used to
gamble a lot, I love what you've done with this place ...)
3. Retreat (Maybe some other time)

I am truly surprised, NOTI! I thought that you were a pure
mathematician/statistician. I did not realize that you were
also a philosopher. Thanks for an interesting bit of Asian
wisdom! {{O:

I've received my standard brochure mailing of offers from Ballys
Caesars AC & Harrahs with cash bonuses for January & February (one
each month, for each property) I have not received any specific
separate mailings, though for other offers.

A friend of mine in AC stopped getting his HET offers (except for free

I've noticed that I've had no new offers in the last week. Is anyone
else in the same boat? Can anyone confirm the existence of this
directive?

with the poor paytables harrahs has no unprofitable vp players

We've definitely seen change in AC in January. My gut feeling -- this
isn't vp targeted. However, there are definitely some profitability
metrics in play in the decision making -- the vp we tend to play has
thinner theos is more likely to fail to make a given threshold. That
said, I have no doubt slot players have suffered as well.

In our case, my Caesars haven't been impacted whatsoever. Bev, on the
other hand, has been entirely shut out this month (aside from her
monthly bonus cash). For the last 4 mo or so (since Bev's become
active there), our offers have pretty much run in lock step with each
other.

The key difference in our play is that while we've been reasonably
well matched the latter half of '08, my earlier play in the year was a
good notch stronger. I'd have to guess that 12-mo theo differences
may have allowed me to make the cut, but not Bev. It could be just a
net play profit thing. One can only speculate.

Bottom line though, I think we're just seeing a little belt tightening
... a little perverse during a sharp business downturn, but in today's
economic climate (and Harrah's position specifically) I can see just
about anything happening just now.

Interesting thread, as I've been feeling that my offers have been
drying up lately as well.

My feeling is based on the fact that my wife is Penny and nickel slots
player (she always plays them max coin), while I am a $1 and $2 max
coin VP player - and she has always gotten better offers and cash
than I have, mostly due, of course, to the fact that her play (slots)
is more valued by all casinos than mine (VP).

This was the accepted standard of things for a long time, and I was
used to it, but in the past few weeks her offers have continued at the
same level, while mine have dried up to next to nothing, and those
that do come in are a joke.

We are both Diamond card players, and both of us spend about the same
amount of time at Harrah's properties, although in the past year I
think I've actually been in more as I'll sometimes stop in when I'm
near a property on a business trip, and I travel a LOT on business.

So maybe there is something to Harrah's reducing offers to VP players,
if others are noticing what I had originally thought was might just
have been a misconception on my part.

We've just come back from two long-weekend trips to Harrah's KC and Tunica
properties, and I'll be interested to see if this results in any
increase in my offers or not.

>i play in ac and i am a 7* player as well as my wife. we spoke to our
host, who we have a close relationship with just this sunday and she
advised me that HET is not giving the vp players much anymore .that
they are not valuing their play. she advised me to drain the card for
all its worth until it stops.she advised me that they have already
lost alot of card members play because of this.

good luck all
