Can someone confirm that the GS still has $5 9/6 JOB with 1% comps
and .5% cashback? The database is only current as of 11/03, and I'm
planning a trip there next month.
Gold Strike VP
No, they do not! They were removed last July. The 9-7-5 DB are still
available in 25c, 50c and dollars. Those are the best games there.
Inventories of every machine in Tunica updated January 2004 can be
found on www.Tunica-VP.com (subscription price $20).

Thanks for the link, but only 3 updates a year? Think I'll pass.
So now I guess my question is, what would be the best option for me
if I want to comp my trip by playing break even to positive $5 VP
(or $1 multiline)? Sheraton?
Try Hollywood casino......they have $1 9/6 JOB Triple play in the high limit area.....and .6 cb!

That is incorrect cashback for those machines. They pay 0.75%.

That is 3 comprehensive updates of over 1300 machines. Interval
updates of any changes are made as they are found. The information
also includes accurate cashback, progressive meter accruals and
occasional promo info.
Gee, you want to get hundreds of dollars in comps and $20 is too much
to pay for the research...
Really? When did that change? Last time I played those machines, the countdown was 25 to earn 1 point. At Marquee level, we get 15 cents per point which still equals out to .6 cb.

the countdown was 25 to earn 1 point.
The countdown on those 4 machines is 20 per point. It has been for at
least a year. I last stuck a card in one in January, and it was still
20. The $5 machines and the $1 9-6 J0B on the floor are all 25. The
0.75% CB on those 4 dollar 3/5 machines is the highest in the casino.
I wish I were comfortable enough financially to play them. I'm told
that I'd need a $60k bankroll for the 3x.

If the FAQ were more specific about these "Interval Updates", that
would be one thing. But there's no point in having Jan 1 info when
I'm going in mid March. The money has nothing to do with it.
March.
It would be hard to be more explicit about unscheduled updates. I
would consider the update schedule more a guarantee that the maximum
age of information for any machine in Tunica is 4 months. No other
source of VP info makes any guarantee about its age.
Case in point: The violent downgrades that occurred at the Gold
Strike last July 7 were reported the next day. Full data on the
damages was posted within a week.
You were working from information for GS that would have been 9
months old in March. I'm not sure why January 2004 looks so bad.
That's okay, I wasn't trying to be a pest. I'm just compulsive about
being complete, as are many vp players. If all you want to know is
where the full pay JoB are, I'm sure forum folks will cover you.

I've been a subscriber to Tunica-vp for almost a year, and I can verify
that the site is updated in a timely fashion. There was the major update of
all nine casinos which was completed on Jan 31, Since then, four casinos
have received dated updates. Sometimes minor changes are included without
being dated. E-mails are sometimes sent to identify major changes.
This site has certainly provided me with information worth more than $20,
and I am a low roller who is an infrequent visitor to Tunica.
This has been a very informative post. I had always known that the
higher-rollers were paid a premium cashback rate compared to
low-rollers. For instance, I'm only a "Screen Test" player at
Hollywood, and I receive only ten cents per point, whereas you have
indicated that "Marquee" players get fifteen cents per point. However,
since I have never played above quarter machines, I was not aware that
the cashback levels are also sometimes increased for the higher
denominations. Quarter VP at Hollywood requires 120 coin-in ($30.00) to
earn one point, so at my .10 cent per point rate, I receive .33% but if
I were ever to make it to Marquee and receive .15, that would equal
.5%. Since you are familiar with Hollywood, can you tell me if they
even have any special cashback promotions, like double point days, or
"card of the the day" (a bonus on specific quads), and that sort of
thing -- and whether you need to sign up for those specials before
playing or whether it is automatic. We always go on the weekends when I
never hear about such things, but I'd like to plan a trip on a weekday
during Spring Break, and I might as well try to take advantage of any
special multiple cashback days.
Thanks.

If you have earned 800 points lifetime at Hollywood you qualify for a Marquee card. Ask next time you are there. That will give you the higher cb rate.
HW never does double point days or bonus' on quads.
Good luck

It now takes 900 points to achieve Marquee Level (I know....had to do it last October). In addition, you must earn 900 point every six months to maintain Marquee level.

In the past I have had to play $30.00 coin-in (quarters) to earn one
point; I realize from a recent post that the countdown/points might also
vary by machine, or at least by denomination, but is it safe to say that
it shouldn't cost me any _more_ than that in coin-in per point? If so,
we shouldn't have any trouble doing that if we increase the frequency of
our trips just a bit. We've only been going 7 or 8 times a year, but it
wouldn't be hard to convince us to go once a month. I know I had a
little over $5,000.00 coin in on our last trip a few weeks ago.
However, we also try to get around to visit other casinos, too, so I
guess before we start making a committed effort to earn a higher-level
players card (and probably inclined to stay at that one casino even
more), maybe we ought to shop around a little bit for the best deal. We
have always liked Hollywood, and have stayed there much more than other
places, but we're open to suggestions. Do any of the other casinos have
more favorable cash-back and comps? I noticed that in another reply,
Hollywood apparently never has multiple-points days or 'card of the day'
and that sort of stuff; do any of the other casinos in Tunica?
Thanks for any info.

The Grand has one, very specific, promotion that you may be interested in.
For one day in your Birth month, you can earn double points. The 9/6 double
bonus games on the Gamemakers on the second floor have a return of 99.05%.
In addition, they give a normal cashback of .66%. Thus, for this one day
you have a positive game. The comps are in addition to the cashback, so
this turns out to be a pretty nice promo. This is a pretty good way to
check out the Grand if you've never played there. Just don't quit your day
job.

Have you heard of anyone getting their Marquee status revoked?
I asked my host (Christian) about losing status several months ago,

we're not Harrahs."

I really hope that is true...cuz the boothling told me you had to earn 900 points every six months to maintain Marquee level. Otherwise you revert back to Screen Test. I will also confirm with my host.

Partially due to this thread, I went to Hollywood today and here's
the Marquee Skinny:
The casino policy, mouthed faithfully by the Club Hollywood
boothlings, is that you need 900 points every 6 months or you will
revert to Screen test.
The actual fact is that this is NOT occurring, at least not yet, and
it does not require special dispensation from a host.
The changes we have been talking about must have occurred sometime
last summer. I played 3x Dollars in March to get Marquee (800 points
then). When I decided I didn't have the bankroll for that level of
play I tried the single-line dollars, but they are so uncomfortable
and slow that I just couldn't find any reason to spend time on them.
So in the last 6 months (July through January) I accrued a grand
total of 251 points. My Marquee should be history, but it is NOT.
But y'all made me paranoid, so I played 435 points on the triple play
today. It cost me about a dollar a point. Those machines beat on me
every time I sit down at them!
Another question was about the Screen Test cashback. I used a virgin
ST card to check the countdowns, and confirmed that they jimmied with
them last summer, too, as you have already pointed out. The quarters
do get 0.33%. Dollars and 50 cents get 0.4%, all downgrades from the
levels of a year ago.
Finally, Marquee bounceback. When I played quite a bit in March I got
$35 twice a month and several good coupons for Fairbanks. During the
last 6 months when I played almost nada I have been getting $25 twice
a month and $20 for the diner/buffet. That must be the basic amount.

The last 5 months, each month I've received $100 cash and $150
Fairbanks (yummm!) coupons. Prior to that, I received $50 cash and
$80 Fairbanks. As I said, I normally average between $7-$9K per day
for the past 4 trips (over the last year).
The past 4 trips, I've received the 'meal card', which gets unlimited
food at the Diner and buffet + access to the Director's Club.
However, when I called my host a few days ago to book an upcoming
trip, he said I'm not eligible for the card. Some VP upstairs
downgraded my DC status because I played poker for 2 hours last trip.
Live poker is rated at a $1 bet per hour. This totally butchered my
rating. Christian said he'd make sure I still received all my meals
comped, but I'd just have to go to the booth to have the comps
printed out. Moral of this story is, don't give your Marquee card to
be rated if you play live poker!
BTW Bill, they've NEVER checked me for ID/credentials to enter the
DC! They always have some nice and tasty (hot and cold) food
selections available. Top shelf drinks are always comped.
For those that have never tried Fairbanks, if you get the chance be
sure you go. It's one of the best steakhouses I've eaten at ANY
casino in ANY gaming jurisdiction. Their steaks are fabulous. We
normally go both nights of our trip, and I sometimes order something
besides steak on the 2nd night. Last trip, I tried the Peking Duck
(24 hrs notice needed), it was outstanding. They sometimes have
lobster egg rolls which are also excellent. It's almost lunch time,
I'm making myself hungry
