Is it possible Rob influenced the installation of these machines for
purely selfish reasons? If there is growth in the number of FPDW
machines in Las Vegas maybe some of the people selfishly hogging 9/6
DDB machines will switch to FPDW therefore freeing up more 9/6 DDB
machines for him increase the fortune he has made playing them.

BTW, when one is ROFLMAOPMP what is the PMP part? Oopps, I think I just
figured it out.

I had always thought of "backed off" being in the vein of trespassed
... not "if you continue to play vp you'll be trespassed".

I wonder how freaked out they get if they see a player going at these
machines aggressively without a player card inserted

This sounds like the Wynn I know and love. Very AC of them....ahh you
hit a royal 1/3 of the way into the cycle-you must be good!!

The best game for high stakes is the Jacks, and you're giving up .24
(real world more like .26-.27) for the privilege of playing there. All
they have to do is back you off the mail. Stupid and petty, in the
Bellagio tradition, if you ask me.

Unless they can track the accuracy of your play (and I have heard
speculation that if they can't right now, they can very soon), then
none of this makes any sense whatsoever. But, who said it had to?

Another thing, unless you're a known producer, expect to receive the
same shabby treatment that Wynn casinos have traditionally given
locals-although I have heard of some decent mail given to a couple of
well known housewives :).

Wynn is a very intelligent man & I am sure he hired intelligent
people so they know that getting a royal does not make you an expert.
Casino policy and behavior will always leave people with a sense
of "wonder".

I have also heard from a reliable source that more than a couple
players have been backed off. They aren't being formally 86'd, but
it's definitely being made clear not to play VP. The info I received
is that it's not just winners being backed off, but players who are
making pigs of themselves by hammering these machines for 10-12 hours
per day.

My current opinion is if you keep your sessions relatively brief,
maybe 4 hours or under, you might be able to fly under the radar,
ensuring both your long-term ability to play as well as the
possibility that Wynn will keep these machines on the floor for a
while to come. In other words, don't use the Bob Dancer method and
pound the machines into oblivion.

Speaking as a "visitor" and recreational player, I can see a certain
sense to this. Wynn didn't put the banks in just to see them become
roosts for skilled locals ... yet at the same time no one would expect
the machines to become anything but that short of some intervention.

A royal is an expedient trigger for play review ("hmmm ... 50 hours
this week alone and not a hotel guest ... they've had enough"). And,
a player "backed off" shortly after being paid a jackpot is likely to
be a reasonably amiable soul.

I'm surprised to hear that they'd back off someone who hasn't at least
nailed a RF -- If an attractive machine was into me for $6K and
someone told me to take a hike, I'd put up a bit of a fuss (though not
likely enough to get me backroomed

Out of curiousity, this is the first that I believe the idea of being
"backed off" but not trespassed was discussed in a context such as
this. Mind you, AC's my turf. What form does this take ... a gentle
"give it a rest, OR ELSE"?

Is someone actually saying that it appears that Wynn management may be applying a bit of
reasoanable logic here?

Wow! I better look out my window to see the pigs flying by. LOL

It seems that Wynn's people are treating these VP players the exact
way they treat cardcounters.
First time: A very polite backoff, something like, "sir, you are
welcome to stay and play any game in our casino except Video Poker."

If you return to the VP machines, then they may tresspass you.

One question though, what is the EV on these machines?

Another question: What does hitting royals have to do with advantage
play? The expert may only play the best machines with perfect
strategy but the art of actually getting the royal has to do with
being in the right place at the right time.

Victoria

EV is 100.77% for FPDW.

If they're willing to track individual chips with RFID, the task of
tracking the quality of a player's game isn't that daunting. They know
how much the game is supposed to return between RFs and between quad
deuces (99% and 95%), and when someone hits multiple RFs they
typically have enough data to track the quality of the game of that
player.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that with data collected over 100000
hands the coin-in coin-out data filtered with the jackpots removed is
enough information to separate a good player from a bad one.

And honestly the task of precisely tracking a player's accuracy
exactly like out training programs do isn't crazy in theory - though I
think I had read something saying that current machines weren't quite
able to do it yet. It's all software, you know, and not even hard
software.

Since I have moved to LV I see a big difference in how good plays are handled. At my previous locale it seemed that the advantage players tried to "share" the good plays and didn't play them 24/7. Now perhaps I am wrong but that is how it seemed.

I find it interesting that whenever a good play shows up (often, not always) whoever gets there first pounds it to death. Is it because it is not expected to last long so you might as well pound it before someone else does? I am not throwing stones, I am just wondering why. Is it because there are so few of the "super" plays that people have to do this? I cannot afford dollar deuces so the Wynn property does not really interest me but the concept seems applicable elsewhere as well.

We had visited The Wynn for the first time yesterday as our relatives from out of town are staying there. The service is excellent. The room are spacious, nicely decorated with all the modern conveniences. The property is just tastefully done without being too ostentatious. While waiting for the FPVP, we played 9/5 DDB. Low and behold, I hit a royal. And, yes, the long term bangers were on the machines. The FPVP did not open up until 10PM. Thank you Steve Wynn.

I totally agree with you but unfortunately there are many players out
there that are on ly interested in what they can get for themselves
