An Offer For The Pocket Shield Elite

I need an OEJ strategy for the 99.98 game (900/400). I found a $5
machine somewhere with excellent club bennies. Don't worry about where
it is, you won't find it. My own computer guys can't do the game for
some reason, and it would take me about 2 days to make one myself,
using Winpoker and VPSM and doing a lot of interpolating. (Zamzow
wouldn't do a patch, nor tell me how to write the code-I think to do
it would take less than an hour for him-just make Jokers out of the
OEJs and stick in a DJW platform; is Paymar still alive?).

In exchange, I'd give you a play from my own Private Stock. I have a
particular $1 FPDW game in mind, with good slot club benefits, which
is located in Clark County (nope, not at Caesars or Bellagio, sorry!).
If you prefer $1 FPJW with good cash back, I can arrange that as well,
but the machine is an antique. Or, if you want the 2% quarter MS play,
that's cool too, but that one is probably too difficult and too windy
for most. Or, if you live in Reno/Tahoe, I have something special for
you there as well.

To make sure the strategy is accurate, I will be testing you (I've
already worked out some of it).

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but is the tenor of this post

members of this board? Tom, please do correct me if I am
misinformed.

This reminds me of conversations that my children had,with each
other, before they learned to share, in the vein of "Nah, nah, nah,
I know something that you don't."

You amuse me greatly. Like I'm going to give out a $200+/hr play on a
site populated by tourists and nickel to quarter players so it can be
burned down by Monday. Since when do we give out $5 machine plays on
this site?

I don't hold personal grudges with people on this site, if we met, I'm
sure I'd get along with 99.99% of the folks here. But at the same
time, business is business. Some of the things posted here in the past
have hurt it. There's an abject refusal by many to believe that
casinos are not in business to make players money.

I'm looking to do a deal-strategy for a $45-$50/hr play at dollars.
What does your post have to do with that?

Just from reading this board for a while I know of a few people who have
used or derived an OEJ strategy. I will supply those names if you send me a
Diet Coke and a Twinkie. If you wish to avoid the finders fee, you could
use your back channels or do a message board search;-) You must realize that
they may find your trade worthless and you would be relying on their
generosity and good will.

Very funny reply...what rock did these guys(lurkers and sycophants)

I talked to someone several years ago - a skilled math/computer person - and he had made up a strategy for this game - but he said it was a VERY difficult task, not one that could be "whipped up" in a few hours. That's all I know about this subject!!!!

Is this really any different from the merchants who promote their
products here seeking money in exchange for information?

This is a quite rare game. I have played it seveal times at Caesars

I hope it produced a chuckle, Jay. My point was not to denigrate the skills
of any other vp player. My own talents are so humble that it would not only
be unkind, but hypocritical of me to do so. My subtle point (some would say
obtuse) is that posing this question as primarily a matter of commerce or a
quid pro quo is not the ideal way of couching this request for information.
You and I both know that insights into this game have been shared by members
here and on the Chicago forum. I doubt anyone received a salary for that
insight;-) Couching a request for help in this manner may even be
counterproductive. Telling people you are going to grill them and expect
their work meets a high standard while offering them something they may not
value at all in return kinda takes the joy out of the sharing of that
information. It all just struck me as a little silly and my response was
every bit as silly.

said, "Spring training starts this month". That's the kind of Cubs
fan that he is. I actually live in fear of them winning the WS, as
Boston finally did, because his favorite expression is, "I just want
to live long enough to see the Cubs win the World Series!" I'd
really like to keep him around a little longer than that!

tried to make a strategy years ago and gave up. It was too time

Actually, I quite agree with you. Especially after reading the
demented sport's writer who picked them to win their division. That
alone is enough to send those nervous chokes into a first half
slide from which they won't recover all season.

I used the Somp strategy on this one (seat of my pants). I have to
admit I only played it to check out the possiblities of this game.
The game I played was short pay.

My E.S.P. seems to be working this morning. I think someone out there
has found a good play on this game. ?? Good hunting.

I know you did. When I researched the mailng list archives to refresh my memory on this subject I found a lot of notes, including several mentions that someone would look into producing a strategy. I think you were the first (back around 1998)and Jim Wolf was the last (last year).

Using Steve Jacob's VP Freebie to practice and slowly develop a strategy was also suggested (did VP Freebie have a hand analyzer?).

There was a lot of discussion with Steve, Jazbo, Effen Dolts*, Randy Hudson, Yuri Sorkin, yourself and some others, but the only thing that came out of it was that there was a couple of pretty good pay tables and that the strategy was very, very complicated.

I think some folks might think that existing vp analyzers could be "easily" enhanced to handle this, but since the games they normally analyze do not need to deal with suits having different values, I'm pretty sure that it adds a whole new level of complexity to the code - and for just one game. Which is probably why we haven't seen it.

*The game Effen and Jazbo were looking at in AC was a much inferior version, I think.
