Well, it looks like the VP player is getting screwed again at the
suburban casinos. After looking very carefully at my monthly coupon
mailer it appears the cashback percentage is being cut back to the
same atrocious level that Harrah's offers.
CURRENT POINT SYSTEM
···
--------------------
$16 video poker coin-in = 1 point
125 points = $5 cashback
so....$2,000 coin-in = $5 cashback for a rate of 0.25%
NEW POINT SYSTEM (effective 8/31/06)
------------------------------------
$8 video poker coin-in = 1 point
600 points = $5 cashback
so, now......$4,800 coin-in = $5 cashback for a new
rate of just a tiny fraction over 0.1%
Please check this month's coupon mailer to see if this seems
correct to you, too.
Perhaps Ameristar's board of directors are clawing for ever-new
and exciting ways to boost quarterly profits to impress Wall
Street. The example I presented above certainly makes it look
that way....*sigh*.
