Ameristar STL update : FPVP RIP

I went up there for their drawing last night.

The lone $ 9/6 JB machine in the HL room has been downgraded to 8/5.

Their FP Bonus Deuces have also had the paytables cut. The glass on
the bonus deuces still say 'Payback over 100% with optimum play.' I
wonder if MO Gaming would be interested in investigating that claim
now that the paytables were cut.

There are no games above 99.2% available at this facility anymore.
There are a couple progressives that sometimes go +, but not often
enough for regular visits.

I spoke too soon. This morning I got word that Ameristar put in some
9/6JB at the quarter level. I plan to head up there tonight to take a
look.

Confirmed. $0.25 9/6 JB.

There is also 9/6 DDB, 8/5 Bonus, 9/7/5 DB and Illinois Deuces. Not
the best games, but at least something worth playing if you're in the
area.

when you say that the full pay loose deuces has been restored to
15/8, what do you mean by that? and again, I am so sorry to be so
new at this, but where are these machines? and, could you recommend
the best video programs to buy to practice? are there any good
quarter deuces games? also, there do not seem to be a lot of
messages in the st. louis group so i wonder if people are not very
active here? do we not have great machines here? thank you for all
that you all do do, as these messages are very helpful to me.

when you say that the full pay loose deuces has been restored to
15/8, what do you mean by that? and again, I am so sorry to be so new
at this, but where are these machines?

They were downgraded from 15/8 to 12/8 and then restored
to 15/8.

The DataBase indicates that Ameristar has $1 15/8 (100.1%)
LDW (pays 15 coins per coin bet for quints and 8 per coin bet
for a straight flush) and 25c/50c 12/8 (99.2%) LDW. I don't
know the location of these machines.

The pay schedule for full pay games can be found in the
Glossary along with a Pay Tables link which includes
other pay schedules.

and, could you recommend the best video programs to buy
to practice?

Win Poker and Frugal VP are both excellent. There
are pages for both in the "Commercial VP Products"
Directory on vpFREE Links.

are there any good quarter deuces games?

The 12/8 LDW at Ameristar and some 16/11 DDW at
President.

also, there do not seem to be a lot of messages in the
st. louis group so i wonder if people are not very active here?

This is a new group. Time will tell how valuable it will be.

the loose dueces full pay are only the $1 level of the 3 machines on
the upper level near the Poker room, the .25 and .50 versions are
not good. Also this game is very volitile, the variance is about 70
where as the variance on JOB is about 20, so you need a very large
bankroll or a very tough stomach to handle such a game.

the 9/6 JOB machines for .25 are a whole bank just past the craps
tables on the right side, they are multi game machines and have
several decent choices for playable games... I didnt write them
down, but several seemed OK or good, especially for the .25 level.
And remember, Ameristar has .25% cash back, plus discressionary
comps and coupon mailings. I still cant figure out Harrahs exactly,
but I dont believe they come even close to Ameristar for comps and
cash.

8/5 Bonus and 9/7 DB in these. I believe there are 8 machines, so
they normally aren't all tied up at the same time.

Jim is correct. Ameristar also offers 2x pt coupons to players that
give them only a little action. If you are a husband/wife team, I
suggest playing a lot on one card and very little on the other each
month. The person with very little play will receive 2x pt coupons
the 2nd month following. When you receive the 2x coupons, play on
that card and ignore the card that you formerly played heavy on. They
will send cash coupons for a month or 2, then only 2x pt coupons.
Repeat process.

Harrahs STL comps were only .1% on the Pickem (before they were
removed) and CB was about .1%. Bounceback was decent, normally
about .5-1%
