$1 FPDW

These machines have been there for about 6 weeks. It will be
interesting to see how long they last now that someone felt that they
had to be made public.

No, I personally did not tease everybody with this info. I'll let
Jean make the call on this one since she is a trusted VP player.

The Rainbow Club in Henderson has 27 new, fast, coinless slant tops
in
the northwest corner of this neighborhood casino that have fifty cent
and $1 FPDW, 100.6% Jokers, 10/7 DB and 9/6 Jacks. The quarter deuces
are also fullpay. There are also a lot of older quarter FPDW (some 10
coin) uprights throughout the casino. No slot club, but regulars can
get food comps in their excellent coffee shop. Rainbow is owned by
Peppermill Casinos.

The Rainbow Club is next to Emerald Island, which doesn't have any
decent video poker, and Eldorado which is owned by the Boyd Group.

Eldorado has 10 quarter FPDW uprights near the Cafe, 2 quarter 10/7
DB
uprights near Tequila Falls Bar, and 3 $1 10/7 DB slant tops near the
Cafe. No slot club, but regulars can get food comps for the Cafe
(24/7) and their Mexican restaurant.

My guess is a week or two tops ... depending on cashback.

I heard they had been played so rarely that they were in danger of being removed from "lack of play."

This is a good time to see if everyone can "be nice" and not burn them out. Although there may be just too many "good" players for such a good opportunity to last, even if everyone limits their play to reasonable session lengths.

Oh, Jean, you sweetheart! I think you're the only person from whom I
could read that remark and know that they're not smirking as they
wrote it.

(Or are things really that incredibly more civil there than in the
back alleys of A.C.?)

I never cared to play these but did stop by a couple of times to see who was
there. The machines were very empty.

how many times per week do you request that other people make plays
public to you elliott?

you constantly dig, dig, dig for information on this forum and
others. hoping to score a nice juicy play to share with others in
your pro network.

now that someone else shares a play that you already knew about (but
other members of this forum did NOT know about) you get all pissy.

All I want is a smoke-free casino some where. Far away from the hot dry air. Just a 25 cent slant top with FPDW. Wouldn't it be loverly?

Point of order, sir. I could not find a definition for the word pissy in my
Webster's New World Dictionary. Perhaps you could enlighten us on its
meaning. In case you have deleted the original post from Elliot, here it is
in it's entirety:
"These machines have been there for about 6 weeks. It will be
interesting to see how long they last now that someone felt that they
had to be made public."
Anyone see any urine in this post? I didn't. All I see is an announcement of
the tenure of the game and an opinion on it's future existence. Your post,
however, did trigger something in a deep crevice in the back of my brain, so
I took a little look. It would appear that you have made eight or nine posts
total during your time as a member, and two of those were verbal lashings
directed toward Elliot. Now you have a third one blasting the same member.
Just to be fair, I took a look at eight recent postings from Elliot, JUST
FROM THIS MONTH ALONE, June of 2003. Before you read these, keep in mind
that Elliot is the person that you are accusing of dig, dig, digging the
board for juicy information.
FROM ELLIOT:
Msg.# 17163- Answer to a question from a member on where to find the May-Jun
coupon book from Terrible's
Msg.# 17127- Suggestion to a member regarding how to set up Winpoker in
response to his question on practicing Sam's Deuces.
Msg. # 16796-Answered a question from a member on the actual existence and
location of the FPDW at Palace Station.
Msg. #16756-Suggested a rule of thumb formula to figure real estate taxes in
LV to a member who may be moving here.
Msg. #16754- Offered info. on playing opportunities at Casablanca and Oasis
casinos in Mesquite to a member who was planning to visit there.
Msg. #16556-Announced to the entire membership the removal of 10/7 DB and
the NSUD progressive at the Hard Rock
Msg. #16355-Warned members of a possible computer glitch on point
accumulation at Texas, Boulder, and Sunset Station.
Msg. #16351-A good solid opinion on the exact situation we are in now
regarding the $ FPDW. Anyone who missed this may want to read it now.
These are just SOME of the posts that he has made THIS month. After reading
these posts, how can you make the accusation that you did? Is he a pro? You
damn right he is, a PROfoundly nice gentleman that I am proud to call a
friend. I think that the only other thing that I can say is, Your Honor, the
defense rests.

I went by at 11am this morning. Most of the machines were empty with the
exception of a nickel VP and a keno player. I only know of about 20
machines, though. Maybe the other 10 were packed with pros!

This is a good time to see if everyone can "be nice" and not burn them out.
Although there may be just too many "good" players for such a good

Since anyone can join vpFREE and other forums by using an alias or a
friend's name, we should expect casino executives to monitor the VP
internet forums. I certainly would if I were in their shoes.

I know there are some casino lurkers on vpFREE, and the Lodestone News
cover page mentions four casinos known to monitor that site.

Advantage VP players are, and should be, very concerned about saving
advantage VP opportunities, but IMO the casinos aren't (or shouldn't be)
our enemy. They should/could view advantage players as loss leaders,
and heavily promote our existence and the beatability of positive VP, to
exponentially increase the universe of VP enthusiasts, most of whom will
never play with an edge. Personally, I want casinos to do well, so that
they can afford to host my VP playing, and subsidize my monthly income.

I welcome a casino presence on vpFREE, because I believe that their exposure
to our ideas and preferences can be beneficial to us and to them. I would
also welcome their active participation on vpFREE, which would provide a two
way channel of communications.

Not only would such participation be welcomed, but to an extent it
would be incumbent upon them to share their knowledge and insights as
any other member does.

The players on this group run a pretty wide gamut. There indeed are
more than a couple of players here who would strip a place bare if the
opportunity presented itself. But the greater proportion of players
here sincerely desire to have a constructive relationship with the
casinos at which they play. Paramount in their desires is to possess
a strong grasp of what benefits are available to them as players.
That's what makes a casino relationship well-defined and satisfying.

Frustrating are the card desk reps and player hosts who use vague
phrasing to suggest what comps might be extended. Words such as,
"well, you're not quite there", "that's something I can't really help
you with", "I can't really help you on this one because you haven't
lost much this trip", etc. serve only to frustrate the player.

The recent move by Park Place to shift much of their discretionary
comp allowance into a fixed account that the player "carries" with
them was a brilliant move that will generate tremendous good will.

Casino player management involvement in this group if conducted in a
constructive manner has a strong potential to produce good. Some of
the most loyal and intelligent members of their player base are here.
Treat them with respect and casino management will get some extremely
valuable feedback.

Call me suspicious, but this approach seems tantamount to telling the
casinos "feel more than free to take our money, as long as you're
nice while doing so". Of course, I don't want to have an acrimonious
relationship with a casino, and I feel that I should be able to
expect good service if only because I'm RISKING my money (yes, to all
the casino execs out there, even when the infinite-term-scenario
dictates things should look good for me, things could be much
different within the frame of a visit, week, month, year, or even
lifetime) while I'm playing. However, I'm not sure if we (the people
who know or at least putting out effort in order to figure out the
ins and outs of comp programs) are the ones who want to pay the
potential costs of letting Steve Wynn stay the night  I guess if
we want to take the position of "if we tell you how you could better
us, and therefore the other 99.5% of your customer base (resulting in
LOTS of profits for you), it would behoove you to have some games we
would want to play and not get snippy when we do well at them", then
I guess that might not be so bad, but I don't know if the casinos
would be so willing to play ball that way... again, call me
suspicious

Not only would such participation be welcomed, but to an extent it
would be incumbent upon them to share their knowledge and insights

as

any other member does.

The players on this group run a pretty wide gamut. There indeed are
more than a couple of players here who would strip a place bare if

the

opportunity presented itself. But the greater proportion of players
here sincerely desire to have a constructive relationship with the
casinos at which they play. Paramount in their desires is to

possess

a strong grasp of what benefits are available to them as players.
That's what makes a casino relationship well-defined and satisfying.

Frustrating are the card desk reps and player hosts who use vague
phrasing to suggest what comps might be extended. Words such as,
"well, you're not quite there", "that's something I can't really

help

you with", "I can't really help you on this one because you haven't
lost much this trip", etc. serve only to frustrate the player.

Forgive me for replying to my own post so quickly, but where it
says "better us" it should read "better serve us"... I wouldn't have
made this self-edit, but I felt leaving it the way it was could have
led to people being confused about what I was trying to say

You'd prefer they were rude while doing so?

My point was simply that since it appears there are casino industry
"observers" here, that we might as well use this as an opportunity for
some two-way communication where we, as members, have to chance to
direct some very pointed feedback their way.

I'm not sure what you envision would be offered up that they wouldn't
more or less already be aware of from the monitoring of this group.
It just creates the potential for some productive discussion.

Of course, I have my doubts about the caliber of the casino personnel
who would take the time to troll around here. I suspect we don't even
rate the occasional floor manager, but more likely a peon "management
wannabe" who's hoping to latch onto some hot info here to offer up to
his/her bosses.
