You never know....

Seems like all I do for the past two years is lose. I play a LOT of
multiline machines, usually $1 level. Today a friend took me to see the new
Duck Dynasty show at the Rio (it is closing in about 2 weeks - run if you want
to see it - enjoyable show, but won't make it on Broadway....)....
anyway... we got there a little early, so I sat at the closest machine to play a
little while waiting for a half hour for the doors to open. It was a
quarter progressive, with a small progressive ($1050) and a very bad pay table
8/5 DDB. Not the kind of machine I usually play.

So what happens? Within minutes a dealt straight flush. About 10 minutes
in, have A, K, J to a royal dealt, hold them, and get the royal! Then
quad 6s, quad 7s. My friend arrives to take me into the show. I hit the
button one more time, dealt Aces, hold them, get the kicker.

Win $1600 or so in about half an hour!

All I am thinking is 'What the F....' -- I could play (and normally do)
for 2 hours on a 5 or even a 10 play and not hit as much! Maybe it is time
to go back to single line! (And why the heck does this happen when I am
playing quarters? Are they setting quarter games at higher pay levels than
$1??) Of course, I know you are all going to say it is just a fluke, a
coincidence....but ???

I would be surprised if someone on this forum hasn’t had a similar experience. I know I have hit my fair share of super hot machines in my time.
It is inevitable in my opinion. If you’re really lucky it happens on a high denomination multi line machine.

I once hit 2 royals within 20 minutes. Then went a year and a half without one.

Misscraps,

I have seen many, many similar emails from you over the years. The only way you can see if there is something suspicious is to take good records for an extended period of time. All I see in your posts is "I play bad machines a lot and I lose money".

Start on Monday, May 4th. Record the game, paytable, denom, # of lines, casino. Decide BEFORE you start what unusual events you want to record. For example, do you want to track dealt trips and how often they become quads. Or do you want to record all dealt hands of flush or better ( on multiline). Record your play for the rest of the month and report back. Then there will be something to discuss.

It's not that your play session is a fluke or a coincidence but if you search for something unusual in a play AFTER the session, I'm sure you will find something. That doesn't mean that the machines are fixed, it means that video results encompass a lot of strange, short term results.

You also need to factor in error rate ( which is tough to do). My guess is there is a lot of selective memory going on. When your session is going badly, no quads in 20 dealt trips might be remembered at no trips in 60 dealt trips, which are very different situation.

Back in the video blackjack days, I had a guy tell me " I've missed my last two million double downs. Maybe more."

Do the leg work to record the data and then there is something worthwhile to discuss. Otherwise it just sounds like typical gambler whining.
