YooHoo! Anyone alive?

The only people I've seen in Reno on a consistent basis the last month or so is the girls volleyball...lol...
But I found out Reno has became the Western Regional Championship location for girls youth volleyball...
So that makes it the Mecca for volleyball as well as bowling...
Apparently gambling has taken a back seat, and has become what it was truly intended on...just something to do for entertainment while there for something else...
On another note, GSR has really went to the crapper...they cut the freeplay, the comps (even with 7x) are terrible, and they no longer allow the 2:1 coupons at the buffet on fri/sat...
However, Eldorado seems to be being generous with their comps, as is legacy...

Nothing much happening as far as mailers go.
NOTHING from Harrahs Reno for May.
There is some kind of cruise promo but we did not get invited.
Tahoe has a millionaire maker this weekend, Tahoe lake cruise next weekend.
NOTHING in Reno for June as far as Harrahs goes.
Silver Legacy free play mailers are out, but not much else.

Since we were no mailed by Atlantis have not made any plans to visit (from Boston). We miss going there but Reno is competing with attractive offers from Vegas/Laughlin ($900 FP from 4 joint next trip end of May beginning of June).

Volleyball and bowling don't shake our bones. Touring Virginia City and Lake Tahoe is our cup of tea. Beautiful country.

Other than the LVH, would you tell us what the other 3 LV joints are?

Tom Weaver, would you mind sharing what you did to get treated generously at Eldorado? And what "generous" means? In December 2012, I gave them $13,000 coin in one day at $1 & $2 9/6 JOB, on a card that was long established but had been inactive several months. This was enough to renew my Gold Plus status, but I have since received only tiny free play, and NO hotel offers. I've had a report of good monthly free play for not a lot of monthly maintenance action, but maybe it's not as easy to get established as it used to be?

I have the same question which no one responded to.

Does anyone have information about discretionary comps at El Dorado. I was told by a visitor that he was well treated for rooms by playing Bonus Deluxe at 99.64 (data base indicates only at 25 cents level). Data base indicates .13 free play and .3 comps.

I would likely play $1 JW2 at 99.92.

At the Eldorado you can put an emphasis on earning comps and less cashback or more cashback and less comps.

I doubt you will get any discretionary comps for food until you have exhausted your comp balance and that is with you selecting max comps and less cashback.

Hotel room should be easy to get and that does not get deducted from your comp balance.

My understanding is that you can “optimize” your free play after attaining a certain status by terminating accumulation of comps and shifting everything to free play. Will that shift the entire .3 from comps to the .13 free play for a .43 return, or is the transfer at a lower rate.

I asked at the promo booth but got the usual “not sure” reply.

The web site and kiosk also don’t seem clear about future free play. I screwed up and overlooked the fact that I supposedly had $30 free play for a month but was unable to download it. I’ll look into that next trip.

On my limited experience it looks like if you play
every month the free room offers continue for 3 nights. I’m Gold Plus–although I’m not sure why on basis of kiosk info.I have not contacted a host as of yet.

the comp and freeplay rates at eldorado vary by player; if they peg you as a strong player, they will be cut or (almost) eliminated. (this is explicitly stated in their players club rules, which is surprisingly honest of them, though i didn’t notice it until after it’d happened to me.)

i personally get about 0.02% freeplay at eldorado now. strangely they don’t get much of my action anymore. be warned.

cheers,

It has been a little over a year since I played at the Eldorado so my info may be dated.

The rates just flip. Based on your example, one will always be .13 and the other .3 You did need to maintain a minimum level of comps in your account based on your card level before you could switch to optimizing free play. Food and travel expenses are taken out of your comp account first before any discretionary comps will be considered.
