Actually, if you look at:

They have 2 cards one Visa, one MC through 2 different banks. If you
have good credit and get the top level of each card ($170 annual fee
total) you can get 50k miles. Good for 2 limited coach tix or 1
unlimited coach tix or 1 limited F/C tix. Which is not bad for $170
(+ 2 hits to your credit report)

The card I have was issued by Juniper/Barclays Bank and has no fee
the first year. But, the points post immediately. So, you can
actually get most of the benefit(i.e. points/miles) needed for a free
flight without paying any fee at all (just cancel at the end of the
first free year).
There are various offers by Juniper over time (often concurrently).
Like you, we obtained a card without fee for the first year. The
offer most generally found doesn't waive the fee.
The base mile offering on the Juniper card is 15,000. An additional
10,000 is available with a balance transfer; 1 mi for every $1
transferred. This option is somewhat unattractive - there's a 3% fee,
capped at $100. That's not a particularly appealing price for 10K
miles, though cheaper than buying them. The bt is interest free for 6 mo.

Bonus mileage awarded by the other issuer was reduced from 25K to 20K
at early this year.
