XXVP: Need assistance with MS Outlook

My system is acting a bit wacky so it's time for what I call a "flush
and fill"...wiping out the operating system and reloading everything
from scratch.

I need some assistance with backing up all my emails/addresses and
calendar appointments on Outlook (NOT MS Outlook Express). Unlike
Outlook Express, I haven't been able to locate a built-in import/export
utility. If there's one built into the software, I'd greatly
appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction.

As far as I can tell, I'm going to need to use a third party software
tool to accomplish my needs. I've searched Download.com and a few
popped up but I have no clue which is the most user friendly to use.

Thanks in advice for any assistance. Feel free to email me directly so
the list isn't cluttered with this sort of thread.

Hockey - all versions of Outlook provide a user and automatic backup.
User: file--> import and export -->output to a folder -->Personal folder file ( .pst)
Then you will pick one area to backup at a time ( email, calendar, contacts ) etc.
By default outlook backs up itself constantly to c:\documents and settings \<user>\local settings\
Application Data\ Microsoft \ outlook\ outlook.pst.
I recently upgraded from Outlook 2000 to outlook 2003, and the upgrade process actually read from my last outlook.pst file, and did not even ask for my personal outlook backups I placed on my E: drive.

PS - for Computer migration projects, I usually use AlohaBobs "PCRelocator" software, that will transfer 90-100% of your old programs including data ( no problem with outlook ) to a new computer using a special usb cable they provide with the software ( well worth the $70 cost ).

Thanks to everyone who took the time to email me (and post here on the

Also, thanks to those list members who receive VPFree in the digest
form and had to tolerate these postings.
