Comp balances on the books are a liability that the casino has to carry.
It's better for the casino if you use your comps than if they carry them
indefinitely. Many casinos have some method of expiring the comps if they
aren't used so that the casino doesn't carry them indefinitely. Some
casinos, like the Wynn, won't carry a comp balance at all for you past your
stay if you are not local.>>>
Don't really have much experience at the Wynn however must relate a recent
experience.
I had just ordered 2 comped tickets for Reba McEntire at the Las Vegas
Hilton. These were $200 + tickets & the feeling I left with was that I was lucky
to get them. Next stop, the Wynn, knowing that I had earned 2 tickets to Le
Reve based on play last year. I went to a host in VIP to ask for those tickets
and I offered to pay for another 2 that I needed. The host's reply was that
they would be able to take care of all 4 tickets and he added "Will that be
all that you need?" The goodwill generated in that instant reminded me of why I
like being a customer of a property owned by Steve Wynn.
(BTW, I am not local but there are exceptions to comp rules if you work with
a host.)
