I got to the B and was able to try this game a little this past
weekend. The game is copyrighted by David Sklansky and plays exactly
as the Wizard of Odds says. The game was rather slow--I would estimate
no more than 30 hands per hour. The speed could easily be sped up to
double that rate, but the dealers were having some difficulty figuring
out the hands. On one occassion the dealer was getting ready to pay me
$90 on my two-pair when one of the other players helped her out by
pointing out that she had made a flush on the end (runner-runner). I
appreciated that because I would have felt bad about taking the B's
$90 instead of giving them $90. I liked the game despite having lost a
little money and the other players at the table were enjoying it also.
I can see that the volatility could be pretty high. I don't know how
the pit figures your play for comping purposes. It should be a good
money maker for the casino until people learn how to play it. None of
the players was anywhere close to the Wizard's strategy, and everyone
except me was making the high casino profit side bets. If you are
going to try it, I would recommend that you deal yourself some two
card hands and get the betting strategy, which is quite simple to
learn, down pat before you go into the casino.
