I know not all Mississippi Casinos are open yet, but which ones would
be the shortest drive?

Hi,
Closest to Memphis would be the casinos located in Tunica County. All of them are open.....they never closed. Tunica is about 35 minutes from Memphis. The Grand, Horseshoe, Gold Strike, Ballys, Hollywood, Resorts, Sam's Town, Sheraton, and Fitz are all located there but not all are within walking distance to each other.
I'm not sure which casinos along the gulf coast have re-opened since the storm. However, they aren't the nearest to Memphis.
Hope this is helpful.

Anita,
Thank you for your response. It is exactly the info I was looking
for.
I knew someone here could help. We are looking for a change of
scenery and this info will aid in planning our first non-Vegas
(gasp!) gambling trip.
Many Royals to you!!!

Hey Mark,
You are very welcome. Tunica is an extreme change of scenery and change of pace from Las Vegas. The casinos are kinda out in the middle of nowhere.....built where cotton fields use to be. I like it though and go there on most of my gambling vacations. Many who dislike the Vegas crowds love Tunica .
I hope you enjoy if you decide to go there. The Grand is the largest casino and resort there with 3 hotels. We always stay at the Grand . We are golfers and the Grand has a really nice golf course......really nice ! If you golf, you will certainly enjoy playing there.
Good luck to you and I hope you guys have a great time and win big bucks !!
Take care,
Nita

Have I been overlooking something at the Grand? Last time I was there
it was a complete VP wasteland with the exception of a few $5 9/6 JB...
