XVP (was) Re: Bob Dancer's book: some observations

Lounge Lizard I want you to know I read all of your posts because your
handle not only doesn't look like a licence plate but it does in fact
conjure up an identity.

I was watching the Tonight show years ago when, Johnny Carson, asked,
Bill Murry, from, Saturday Night Live, where he came up with the "Lounge
Lizard" character, ie: the overly corny lounge singer. I had an "Ohh...
My... Gawd..." moment when he told of hearing, then mimicking the
personality of a guy playing the Cordovox, an accordian like instrument,
along with his blonde wife on string bass in a small bar in Minnesota.
Before they moved back east I played in jazz jam sessions with the
couple, Merle and Darlene Thom, (stage name Tommy Merle) at a sleazy
little bar in Van Nuys called the Plush Office.

This was an exceptionally well-written post. I had never taken note
of your posts before, probably because your handle does not conjure
up an identity; it looks like a license plate. So I searched the
archives; you definitely know what you're talking about when it comes
to understanding advantage play. Good job.
