XVP Video Poker for Winners format question

I recently installed version 1.0.7.0 of VPW (BTW 1.0.8.0 will be out
tomorrow)on a new VISTA laptop whose screen size is approx 11 inches
wide by 9 inches tall.

When I bring up the page to play the game (not the menu page) the VPW
window is approx. 9 inches wide by 9 inches high.

The actual playing window (the one that more or less duplicates the
vp machine screen is approx 7 inches wide by 7inches high. This
leavea a blue border ALL on the right side AND on the bottom of
approx. 2 inches . IOW the playing screen is 7 x7 in the upper left
corner of a 9x9 window. Communicating with VPW has not found a
solution to the problem.

It appears to be related to my situation only, but I have no idea the
cause or the fix.

Any help out there, either direct or on forum.

FYI, a part of this problem is that the menu screen when it first
comes up has the right hand 2 inches missing, but if you double click
on the very top frame the right hand two inches is restored and the
menu page then looks totally normal. However, no amount of clicking
or anything seems to restore the playing screen to normal proportions.

Per tech support using a similar computer and software, they are not
experiencing the formatting situation, so I am thinking it might be
some quirk on my computer, but have no idea where to look or what to
look for.

Per tech support using a similar computer and software, they are not
experiencing the formatting situation, so I am thinking it might be
some quirk on my computer, but have no idea where to look or what to
look for.

If your display problem is happening to not just one program (VPW),
normally the first things you can check are the FONT size (from
Appearance tab) and/or the DPI settings (from Settings tab) in your
computer.
Right click on your desktop and select Properties.
Try running common programs like Notepad, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
You may have to play around with your Screen Resolution.

As soon as I read the word font size, I remembered that I had gone to
the larger font from the default of 96 dpi. This was prior to
downloading the VPW and I had frogotten about it. I had already
played around with resolution to no avail. Changed the font back to
default and got the "normal" VPW window, although with the smaller
font it is a smaller window. I understand they are working on
enabling it to go full screen, but as of right now, it will not. I
alerted VPW tech support.

Thanks, Gilbert

I was the one who asked the question originally. What are display
screen bytes?

I was the one who asked the question originally. What are display
screen bytes?

  go to control panel
  click display
  click settings
  go to adjust screen
move slide bar to right to increase resolution
  should work
