Back from a weekend at LVH. The BJ Blitz machine in the sportsbook is
gone. It has been replaced by a hot dog vendor selling $1 dogs
without any kraut or fresh onions (grrr. Go to the Suncoast for a
better dog.) I was told that the machine was taken out because it
could not be made into TITO and was getting difficult to maintain.
Who knows? I do know that it got a lot of play, but was often being
worked on. It had to be making good money because the players on the
machine were usually pretty bad. There is a BJ Blitz in Ballys just
as you walk into the casino from the walkway joining it to Paris.
Unfortunately, it does not allow any doubling down. It probably
doesn't matter if it is TITO or difficult to maintain, since no one
ever plays it anyway without any DD.
Gloria Dennison told me about the change in comp requirements at
LVH as being such that if you were an established player that was
marginal at whatever level you were rated at, you would probably get
bumped down one level. If you were in the middle for coin-in/theo at
that level, you would probably not see any change. That was my
experience. I have been dealing with Gloria for quite a while, and
find that she is a straight shooter. I ate at the Steakhouse for the
first time, and I don't think I will be back. Andiamo's is still
outstanding.
(XVP) Update: LVHilton
Thanks for the report. I'm not shocked bj blitz is gone, it had to be
a pain in the arse for them. One seat always seemed to be down, bill
acceptors didn't work, lots of fills, etc.
But I will miss it since it was my comp machine for free rooms,
concerts, and food. But a lot of the gravy was already gone due to 6
decks and lower cashback.
