In the early days of XT's and XT clones which had 20 meg hard drives, when
we bought a new one the first thing a savvy owner would do would be to test
the formatted capacity of the drive, if under a certain number of bytes due to
errors [like <17meg] we'd carefully drop the cpu squarely on the floor and
return it to the computer dealer.
