What about a laptop theft alarm that would emit stinkbomb smoke while it's
being carried away. It would be kind of like Mr Phelps not getting away from
the self distruct tape in time.
Or... a laptop alarm that when turned on by a thief it would say on the
screen, "FREEZE YOU'RE UNDER ARREST"

Or, result in the thief simply thusting it forceably to the ground (probably concrete) in anger
and then running off, before anything could be done to thwart him/her. No matter what,
your laptop is gone (or possibly destroyed).
Remember to secure your property, using prudence and diligence. An ounce of prevention is
always worth more than a pound of cure.
