Recently read an article about tax preparation (believe it was in San Jose
Mercury) which said that a rising % is outsourced to India. I won't debate the
merits of outsourcing as one list member feels it's a good thing.
However the article did mention that if you fear identity theft, then ask
where & who is doing your return. Naturally you would feel safer if it were being
done by the company you gave it to since you know where they are.
If your situation is not complicated, consider using a computerized tax
program. I have also heard that there are reputable tax programs that you can use
online for free.
