Does anyone provide the IRS a copy of their daily gaming log or other
supporting documentation when filing taxes? Would doing so possibly
answer questions the IRS may have and avoid an audit? Or is it just as
likely to cause one?

I would suggest NOT sending in this type of supporting documentation
with your tax return. Based on various stories I have heard and read,
any unrequired additional information that you supply to the IRS has a
way of eventually being used against you in ways you would never
imagine.

I don't know why people send supporting documentation in the first
place. The IRS doesn't request it and you are only confusing the
person encoding your return. They scan your return into a computer.
The computer program using secret parameters either accepts the
return or sends it out for further review. Does anyone think the
employees who open the returns and process them have the time to
examine supplemental documentation. Some clerk in Utah or Ohio would
get a statement like, I had to put a $1000 coin for each entry for
this car I won that is listed on the 1099. And their suppose to
understand that!!!!!!
