Just when I was trying to figure out how to introduce Prestige Travel as a subject, there is Elliott to making it very easy for me!! Thank you!
This pertains to VP because we won a cruise to Alaska in a Sunset VIP contest. Cruise and airfare - if you didn't want Alaska, they would give you the Caribbean. Plus $1,000. We were estatic since I have always wanted to see Alaska. The day after the contest I called the rep. that Sunset told me to use. I left a message. No answer. The second day I left a message asking when would be a good time to call in order to catch her in the office. No answer. She called on Wednesday afternoon, never asked our names, address, etc. said an upgrade of cabin could be done and she would work on it. On Saturday I called and left a message asking what was happening with our reservation. This is the busy season in Alaska and we wanted to be sure someone was working on it ASAP. She called on Monday and gave me the price of the update, said that there was no problem with a balcony stateroom as we had chosen the straight cruise and most people preferred the one that turns around after the inside passage. She asked me to pick any week I wanted to travel this summer as it was no problem. Notice, she keeps saying there is no problem. I was thrilled. I could eat my breakfast on our balcony and watch for whales. Life was good. I called her on Tuesday to ask when and where we should drop off the travel bucks for the upgrade. No answer. Wednesday afternoon we took them to the corporate office after calling to make sure that is where she was located. George handed her the envelope and said "you will be sure to give us a confirmation today". Oh, yes, all was still wonderful(no problelm) with her. We got home at 6:00PM and there was a message. She didn't even say she was sorry, just that there was nothing available but an inside cabin (no windows) for the remainder of the summer. Naturally we were deflated, angry and mad. On Thursday George called and asked to speak to a manager since we no longer wanted to do business with this particular agent, the receptionist put him through to the agent's voice mail. He hung up, called again and asked if she had heard him correctly, he did not wish to do business with that agent. This time she put him through directly to the agent. He hung up, called the receptionist back and was not in the best of moods. She put him on hold for 20 minutes and then he got the manager. He explained we did not want to work with this agent, that it had taken her 11 days to tell us there was nothing available when she had a paid for cabin and could have gotten money for the upgrade on day one. The manager said they would get to work on it and have an answer by the end of the day. When we got in last night, there was a message from - guess who? - the agent George told the manager we didn't want to work with - telling us the same story as before, nothing available and would we care to go to the Caribbean. We have been there, thank you.
George called Sunset today and asked how to give back the cruise. If this could be done, he also asked for a letter telling us the 1099 for the trip had been voided.
I am with Elliott, lets all write Stations and put a hex on Prestige Travel.
Thank you for letting me rant!! I needed that.
Cheers!
