XVP - Southwest's New Boarding Pass Online System

I tried the new print your own boarding pass today, it works and I am #1 for my flight later today. But I wonder if this system will work. There will be some who use this as a license to be late and show up just as there group starts to board, or may be miss showing up and not enplane at all. Since they now check your boarding pass by computer scan they will know who shows up and who doesn't. Clearing standby's mighr be slower depending on how the boarding pass scanner is linked to their system.

This system is sure worth a try. I can put up with the box snack and the cl=
ose seating,
but I really hate Southwest's policy of not assigning each passenger a seat=
. Since
Southwest is the only airline that schedules daily non-stop flights from No=
rfolk,
anything they do to improve service is appreciated.

I sure do love those non-stop flights out of Norfolk. Will be giving
the online system a try when I fly out of ORF next month. You must
also live in the Hampton Roads area. From your handle, I'd wager it's
Virginia Beach. Am I right? I live in Portsmouth. If my assumptions
are correct, it's nice to know there's another VPFree list member in
the neighborhood.

Good wager, Artmo. We live in the Little Neck section of Virginia Beach. Judging from
the packed flights from Norfolk to Las Vegas, my guess is that there are other
members of VPFree from Hampton Roads as well. I wish there was better vp play on
the east coast, but it's hard to find a decent dw machine - our game of choice - even
in Atlantic City. We're lucky that ORF is a Southwest airport.

For those of you who'd be interested in knowing this and don't
already know it, Southwest Airlines is coming to Philadelphia!

Their flights to/from Philly start on May 9th. I haven't checked
their website, so I don't have specifics yet(if they've even posted
[m]any), but I can't imagine Las Vegas NOT being among the
destinations served from there.
