Although individual members may be moderated on occasion, I
don't ever intend to make vpFREE a moderated group. And, I'm on
record that vpFREE will always be a non-profit operation, as long
as I'm the Administrator.

I don't believe that a special rule against "Skip Bashing" is
desirable or necessary, since vpFREE's rules don't tolerate the
bashing of anyone.

The "Skip Bashing" in this thread has been addressed by Jean Scott
and others publicly, and by me privately. Time to move on IMO.

Wait, Tom, before you close the door on this one...

Several years ago, one of the VPMail group members (Snopes) went off the deep
end in attacking another group member. I came to the defense but hastily
wrote my response so that Skip probably misinterpreted it & got on my case as
well as Snopes.

I unsubscribed from VPMail partly in response to Skip's reprimand but largely
due to the fact that I was spending too much time on this kind of stuff.

I recently renewed for what I think is probably the 4th or 5th year. I will
keep on renewing as long as I continue to gamble because the time saved more
than makes up for the subscription fee.

Looking past Skip's acerbic responses, there is just too much value in SHG to
ignore. If anyone thinks that Skip is making a ton of money off of less than
a 1000 subscribers at $55 (?) per then I'd like to see them try starting a
new site & experience what it takes to keep such a site updated.

If Skip's responses bother you that much, try:

--growing a thick skin
--lurking only
--unsubscribing from VPMail but keep the rest of it
--shooting yourself in the foot

Snopes-Snopes-Snopes a name from the dreaded past. I for one got into
it big time with him, in fact it may have been me who you are talking
about. He even emailed privately some really sick stuff. Ah memories!

I also had a bad experience with Skip Hughes. I originally
subscribed to Skip's site based on TomSki's recommendation.
Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience and subsequently
canceled my membership. Rather than get upset, I put my energy into
more positive aspects of life.

Cheers.
