XVP, sitters at one table tournaments

When I talk about sitters, I'm not talking about tight players. I'm talking about players who will not see a flop, period, until only 4 of the original 9 players are left. Not only are they taking up a seat and not really playing, you have to wait for them to fold each time. I guess there is nothing illegal about what they do. It does change the dynamics of the game.

Going to 2 small blinds and 1 big blind would cripple this play. Maybe I will suggest that.

You lost me. If someone is dealt trash they should fold. In fact even
if they're not dealt trash depending on position and whether there are
raises the correct thing to do might be to fold. It could very well be
that someone doesn't catch playable cards until well into the tournament.

Huh?? How does folding take longer than staying in?? If they're not
folding they have to push chips in which takes longer than just
tossing 2 cards. Evaluating your dealt cards and deciding whether or
not to play on is very much a part of Hold Em. I realize at low limits
many players are comfortable with Hold Em being run as a lottery, but
that's a perversion of the game. If someone is weak they should be
made to pay to see more cards. That eliminates the lottery element and
forces players to evaluate their cards more critically.

Going to 2 small blinds and 1 big blind would cripple this play.

Maybe I will suggest that.

How does that affect anything? 7 of the players (I'm assuming a 10
player table) will be totally unaffected. The player on the 2nd small
blind isn't going to be any more enthusiastic about defending it than
if he was on the 1st small blind - if it's trash it gets folded.
Remember small blinds are "live" blinds, i.e. they act first, a
consideration when deciding whether or not to play on.

http://tinyurl.com/4f4cy Not quite sure whether to root for Colony on this one or not. Could Harrah's EC get much worse for the cognizant VP player?

one or not. Could Harrah's EC get much worse for the cognizant VP

Probably not. I can't think of another company that owns midwestern
properties that has deployed good vp like MS. What would really be bad
luck if indeed there was such a company, but they already own a
property in southern Indiana. That would automatically exclude them
from purchasing Harrah's EC due to the Indiana state law that
prohibits one company from owning multiple properties. That law
supposedly is inducing the sale of Harrahs EC due to the parent
company's merger. This law doesn't make any sense to me because I
can't think of any issues arising from owning a casino in NW Indiana
and one in southern Indiana. Those Hoosier legislators must have
cooked something up though.

Look on the bright side. Thanks to Blago's 70% casino tax in Illinois
the parent company of Hollywood won't be acquiring Harrah's EC any
time soon. If you think Harrah's vp is bad now take a field trip to
Hollywood sometime. Oh and btw, be prepared to pay admission and parking.
