If you have a car and want to "see" great seafood, try the M seafood

My husband and I prefer the Rio seafood buffet to the M's weekend seafood
buffet.

I never understood the Rio's Village Seafood Buffet following.
I really like seafood (spending years in Panama and Hawaii sealed the deal there), but I don't see why the Village Seafood Buffet gets repeat visitors. Perhaps it is just the crab legs (I'm impartial when it comes to crab legs).
I gave it 2 chances (after being unimpressed the first time I wanted to make sure it wasn't just a bad night) and on both occasions was unimpressed. They do have a lot of items, but none of them were particularly good. The cooked things were bland (many things were breaded or fried). The raw shrimp were the best part of each meal, but that sure isn't a reason to pay $38+tax.
If I am going to pay that much, I'm either going to go to a buffet with better overall food quality (like the Wynn or Bellagio) or to a seafood restaurant where they are more concerned with quality and flavor than bulk cooking.

I did get to experience the M buffet recently and liked it a lot. I wasn't able to catch their seafood night, but I expect it would be more to my liking than the Rio's.

Take Care,
Mark

I have had both the Rio and the M Seafood buffets. Even if the M buffet wasn't
$10.00 less (a most reasonable, IMO, $28.00) I would prefer the M buffet.

There is fresh shrimp galore, as well as mountains of cold Crab Legs. I believe
that they serve hot Crab legs as well, but since I don't care much for hot seafood,
I can't verify that. They also serve delicious cold salmon, lightly fried clam strips
and a variety of sushi preparations, IN ADDITION to the other regular very bountiful
buffet items.

The M buffet is the only LV buffet that I've visited, which offers complimentary red,
white and blush wine, hard cider, and a made to order cappucino station with their
very extensive and yummy dessert bar.

I highly recommend the The M buffet to ANYONE, whether the regular, less expensive
weekday buffet, or the weekend Seafood extravaganza. I have enjoyed this buffet at least a dozen times, and it has never been less than excellent. IMO, it is worth a visit to The M,
if only for the buffet.

P.S. I am NOT related to Michael Gaughan, and do not own stock in SP! But I
do LOVE eating good food..... almost as much as playing VP. {{O:

You had me at complimentary red! (I find that even the cheapest wine can
make anything palatable...even the cheapest wine!) LOL

Jayne, my rating of the wine selection offered at the M buffet is a solid B - to C+ . It is
satisfactory (to me) table wine which can probably be purchased in a wine store for about $10.00 per bottle, or in a restaurant for $6.50 a glass. Not great wine by any means, but perfectly acceptable. I've tried the white (Chardonnay) the red (Cabernet) and the blush
(White Zinfandel) and enjoyed each variety as an accompaniment to the outstanding food.

The only criticism I have of the M Buffet, is the possible long wait for a table if you don't have a buffet comp with a line pass. The wait seems especially long for the Friday night
seafood buffet.

Good eating!

Thanks Babe....even better knowing your rating (I'm a Two Buck Chuck kinda
gal anyway, so this might even be a step up for me!).

Sounds like getting the line pass is the way to go.

I'm not sure when I'll be able to get back to Vegas...but I'm going to add M
to my list. Seems like there's a lot of good being said about it.

Thanks for the info!
