marketing comps before you start accruing any additional comps? What
kind of mailed cashback offers do they normally send? With the new
Jacks, I might develop this as a secondary place.

To the best of my knowledge the B operates under the same rules as
the rest of the MGM-Mirage casinos. When we recently stayed in free
rooms at MGM and TI under a marketing promotion we had to "pay" for
the rooms before getting any other comps. I would bet a substantial
portion of my bankroll it is the same at the Bellagio. Even though we
were not staying at the B they would not comp us a meal while we were
staying at any other MGM-Mirage property -- said to charge our meals
to our room and see if it would be comped when we checked out (it
wasn't). After we moved to the Venetian (another free marketing
promotion), the B felt free to comp us a trip to the buffet.

We stayed at the Bellagio over the past weekend on a room offer.
Stayed for two nights of a three night offer and had $75.00 free
play. We went to the players club to get a line pass to the buffet,
to avoid a two hour wait in line, and the lady at the counter
thought we were asking for a buffet comps and she proceeded to tell
us that we needed to earn 15,000 points for the two days before we
were eligible for additional comps. We eventually got our line
passes but also got some good information about what we needed to
play for additional comps. We ended up earning about 20,600 points
on $1.00 9/6 JOB which is about 62,000 dollars in action . Before we
checked out, we called the casino host to evaluate our play and they
comped are $60.00 room charges and are $100.00 upgrade to a fountain
view (well worth the extra charge even if I had to pay the $50.00 per
night). Our bill ended up being $1.00, for a tip at a snack bar, not
bad for a five star hotel. Definitely our favorite place to stay in
LV. P.S. - Always get a line pass to buffet to avoid long lines and
it makes you feel like a real VIP when you pass everyone and are
immediately seated.

I'll preface by saying it's been a little over a year since our last
B. stay, but I expect what I offer here is reasonably on target.
Once you've established a trip at $33K+/day you should begin to
received RFB-L offers (they refer to this as "selected restaurants") -
- including an upfront offer of room and food and beverage to all but
their top-line restaurants (such as Le Cirque, Picasso, Prime, etc.)
This means you have signing privileges for excellent choices such as
Circo, Jasmine, Shintaro, Olives (check these with your host, I may
be off a bit) plus full room service.
In my book this makes their RFB-L rating one of the strongest in
LV. Of course, until you have at least one trip sufficiently rated
on their books, your first stay will accrue comps under the more
basic "cover your room comp with play and then we'll review your food
and beverage signed to your room to see what we can do". (i.e. I
don't believe they have a comp kiosk system similar to Caesars)
We have always found them very gracious with comps. We typically put
in about $120K over the course of our 2 night stay -- a little short
of what's necessary to receive full RFB offers. However, we pop a
dinner at Picasso, etc. onto our room each trip and it's a no brainer
to get it comped off before checkout.
