if your insurer does waive the deductible on the Loss of Use

Insurance companies ONLY waive deductibles when the accident is clearly not
their clients fault, and they know there will be no problem collecting from a
third party. Also I wanted to add from my own experience with rental car
companies, that they do not have their ducks together on accidents. I just recently
(well actually it is almost a year ago) handled a claim for a client. He let
his girlfriend use the rental car, accident occurred and he did not want his
wife to know about it. So I got the dirty work of dealing with a rental company.
It took forever to get the two distinct departments (property damage and
personal injury) together on a settlement. But they did settle with me for less
than the value of the claim--it often pays to be proactive and make friends if
possible as you go.
