XVP: Re: Unbelievable event at Palms

<<<<While you may not want to hear this....>>>>>

On the contrary, I like to hear all viewpoints whether I am in agreement or not.

<<<<Technically, it's your responsibility to do what's required within
the proper time frame.>>>>>

I tried to. I was at the proper location prepared to perform a one second function prior to the required time but was prohibited due to insufficient/inadequate equipment provided by the Palms.

<<<Let's say you arrived at Palms at 6:30 and were driving around
looking for a parking space until 7:00 instead of standing in line
waiting to swipe your card. You would have no recourse in that
scenario. This is essentially the same thing.>>>>>

I don't agree that this scenario is the same thing. I would not blame the Palms in this instance because it is my responsibility to be at the swipe location before 6:45. I could CHOOSE to illegally park and be at the required location in time. Similarly, a traffic jam on Flamingo Road caused by a vpFREE lunch getting out at Gold Coast would not be the fault of Palms. In both cases I would be annoyed, but the responsibility to get there on time is mine.

<<<<If Palms had decided to allow those standing in line at 6:45 to swipe
their cards, then the hundreds of people who did what was required
would have a legitimate beef: "If we came early and got it done on
time, why should the stragglers get a break?>>>>>

As Anteroz pointed out, Palms later gave an extension of time for people to claim prizes over what was published in the rules due to their inadequate facilities for hosting the event. Did those still in attendance get upset over this "break"?

<<<<<Standing in line
waiting to do something before 6:45 is not the same as getting it
done BY 6:45.>>>>

I agree. In the future I would push my way to the front of the line and look for someone I could take advantage of. Let's say it is Jean Scott. When Jean arrived at the swipe device, I would drop a piece of paper on the floor and say loudly "Look someone dropped a coupon!" When Jean instinctively went for the coupon, I would dash in and swipe my card. As you emphasize getting it done is what counts.

<<<Participants should think ahead and allow PLENTY of time for these
big promotions. That's one reason the casinos have these events.
While you're there with lots of time to kill, you might as well
play.>>>>

As a knowledgeable poster such as yourself must know, a local playing for a few minutes a day prior to a Palms' event would be devastating to one's future bounceback Free Play offers as it would lower your play per day average.

On the bright side as Ms vpFREE pointed out, the current Palms promotion makes no mention of a swipe being necessary on the days of the drawings. Since participants must be present to win is there really that much value in requiring them to swipe 15 minutes in advance?
