XVP Re: Tipping

No problem. I believe that both jobs are equivalent as far as stress goes, and both jobs require the same level of skill. Any job dealing with the many wackos that inhabit a casino is going to be stressful. I have seen floor people hassled for jams and short paying machines, and grumpy customers who are losing their asses. I have seen CW's tipped tons of money from happy drunken high rollers.

As another poster mentioned , it would be nice to know the
salaries of both. I suspect that the CW's have a lower base salary but probably have a higher gross income including tips.

Personally I hate tipping, but I do it because I don't believe it is right to penalize the workers that depend on tips for a policy that is not their making, but I would much prefer to pay a reasonable price for a meal that included reasonable pay for staff, than having to tip when others don't, or tipping for so so service.

I am a bottom line type of guy . I also hate that a rental car at McCarran that I book for $120 costs me $170 after the extra charges, and the airlines are worse for people like me that travel cross border between Canada and the U.S. . I have to pay taxes to both governments that add up to 1/3 the cost of a flight.

I feel much better now.

Regards

A.P.

Sorry, Albert!

I did not mean to infer that you were against tipping CWs (or
anyone else). I was just trying to make the point that, though
slot attendants were tipped much less often than CWs, that I
believe their job is also much less stressful.

I apologize if my post seemed to indicate something else.
