I don't think they are a racket or overkill. When I visit Boulder Station from downtown and get off th ebus and cross Boulder Highway, those going in an dout of the casino always seem to be oblivious to the rights of pedestrians. Anything that slows them down is good.

I think speed bumps like that are a racket promoted by paving companies.
Vehicles suffer damage because of them and the folks who ordered the speed bumps
have to have a redo to lower them.
