XVP - Preakness Picks

Hi Gang:
Here are my picks for tomorrow’s Preakness Stakes with a little analysis
of each horse. Good luck to everyone. Enjoy the race!!

1. DANCE CITY (No. 8, 12-1). Improving Pletcher colt chased hot pace
in key race Arkansas Derby and held well for third despite being bothered
deep stretch; sitting on big race after bullet breeze last Sunday; style
suits this track.
2. ANIMAL KINGDOM (No. 11, 2-1). Thriving at Fair Hill after
dominating Derby performance; handles any pace scenario; big-time threat to add
another Triple Crown jewel to his resume.
3. MUCHO MACHO MAN (No. 9, 6-1). Kicked it into another gear in final
100 yards of valiant Derby effort; consistent, tough and stakes-tested;
just needs to work out clean trip.
4. MIDNIGHT INTERLUDE (No. 7, 15-1). Can’t believe he’s as bad as he
looked in awful Derby try; Baffert feels he’s doing much better and changes
jocks to shake things up; can be factor with return to form.
LONGSHOT SPECIAL: KING CONGIE (No. 3, 20-1). Coming to hand for Albertrani
at right time; just missed in Blue Grass blanket finish; positive rider
change.
