XVP -- Palms Buffet -- a Good Value Again

I have a confession to make; we've been eating the Palms Buffet about
once a week for a month. Whew, I feel better now that I've said
this in public! :slight_smile:

Seriously though, it's much improved (in our opinion) since a couple
years ago.

When they first opened, we ate there several times in the first year
or two. Then it took a downhill turn and fell off our list of places
worth eating at even with a comp. We still ate at the Palms, but in
the coffee shop or Gardunos. Fast forward to this year, and since
we've become "Seasonal Las Vegans" we're in the Palms several times a
week. Chris got the MVP card, and with prices 1/2 off paying with
points we decided to try it. We were pleasantly surprised.

A few random observations:

* The Lebanese section is good - a nice change from the ordinary
* Prime rib is good, not great but good
* Crab legs are good, served hot, and split open
* Most meat, fish, and poultry dishes are OK
* Quality overall is good
* Desserts are OK
* Nice touch: Self-serve coffee/espresso/cappuchino machine at the
end of the line past desserts.
* Greatest negative for us; vegetable selection is limited

George Maloof should spend more time fixing the buffet then worrying
about his next date with Britney Spears.
