XVP - Our best meal ever - review of Picasso at Bellagio

My husband and I ate at Bellagio's PICASSO restaurant tonight and want to
recommend it highly. We think it was the best meal we've ever had. We definitely
recommend getting the wine tasting menu that comes as an option. Though we
are not big wine drinkers at all (and in fact rarely drink at all), we found
the wines very very good, very interesting to sample, and really a good match
with the courses. The waiters also give you information on each wine including
how the flavors will blend with the food.

The dinners are "price fixed" -- either a 4-course meal plus desert for $95
per person, or a 3-course meal with desert with a little more choice of
options for $85. The wine tasters were something like $45 and $38 respectively.
One of us took the $95, one the $85, and with the 2 wine tasters and tax, the
total came to $295. Natually we had a comp (which runs about 30,000 Bellagio
points), but for non-compers who want a splurge meal, this place is still
excellent. It would be great for anyone going out on a special occasion like a
birthday.

We sampled each others foods and wines as well, which really gave us a great
variety. Everything was excellent. The best dish was the foie grais
(appetizer) with its wine accompaniment.

The ambiance is very good, with excellent service, as you might expect. You
can stare and several actual Picasso's on the walls and see a couple of
Picasso sculptures as well. You can also stare out the window at the Bellagio's
fountains (though the view isn't fantastic because you are close to the water).

We really enjoyed the combination of the food and the wine samplers which
really complimented one another. My husband kept saying "it was a wonderful
experience" to the waiter as we left.

Afterwards we decided that this was the best meal we had ever eaten.
