xvp - new strip developments - my comments

I sure thought the monorail was a great idea. Run it from the airport,
through the Strip, and then on to downtown. Convenient as hell for the gazillions
of Vegas visitors, and would put a serious hurt on the taxicab industry (which
has been ripping people off for years). It would also have helped alleviate
parking problems for thousands of Strip employees. Then that revised route
proposal came out, and I can remember thinking: "What idiot thought that route
was a good idea?".................

Let's see... it could have been the taxi industry, it could have been a casino property (or several) on the East side of the street, who wanted to keep folks away from the casinos on the West side of the street (remember, these plans were made BEFORE all the consolidation), it could have been the car rental companies, etc. You just don't know -- and the folks who do know, aren't saying.
