a one way lv blvd makes a lot on sense...
Not really. Consider all the accidents right now at Paradise and Trop from
tourists not understanding it's a one way street going south. I used to live
down the street in one of the poor white trash trailer parks vacated to build a
28 story time share just a few feet from the final approach to the right
north/south runway at McCarran While on my bicycle at Trop and Paradise,
waiting for the light to change,I flagged down and rerouted a couple of hundred
cars in my 11 years in the area. Other times I would see remnants of
accidents, broken glass, car fluids, flare ashes, broken plastic parts from cars and
sometimes left over paramedic trash. Just imagine the accidents if the entire
Strip was one way.
I suggested several years ago to both county and city officials that it
would be a good idea at the start of a weekend to have major casinos take turns
posting people with warning signs and flashing red strobe lights to keep
tourists from turning right at Trop and Paradise. But like they say at the
Excalibur, "Let the tournament begin."
