I may have had giardia (was treated for that among other parasites) eating
something at the airport at Nairobe (big mistake) that came out of a microwave
oven no less. I was so careful the whole several days in Kenya, short
safari and all, but got home and was plagued by intestinal miseries for years
after. One thing the infectious disease specialist recommended that helped a lot
was to stay off dairy products for a while.
