XVP - My son needs 2 rooms at a reasonable rate Jan. 4 - Jan. 8

Happy New Year all! In 2006 may lots of your flushes be ROYAL!

My son, daughter-in-law and 2 grown grandsons have decided to meet
us in LV on Wed. night, Jan. 4th. They will be staying in LV until
Sun. Jan. 8th. He called me last night to ask for my help in
securing a reservation, as he was having a problem.

After mildly chastising #1. Son for waiting until the last minute,
I agreed to help.

I started by calling my host at the GN, where we are staying. She
told me they were sold out except for $400+ per night suites. Then I
tried other downtown hotels who have sent me marketing offers from
time to time. They are all sold out until Monday, Jan. 9th.

He is not looking for a comped room, though he is a BJ player and
his wife is an ardent Craps player. Both sons also play BJ & VP.
He would like to find 2 rooms, either downtown or on the srip, at
a somewhat reasonable rate.

If you know of anyplace that I might try for him, I would be most
appreciative.

Hi, Babe. If you have really exhausted all your connections and offers and
can't book a room even at rack rate at a desired hotel, you might try
services like travelworm or hotwire. It has been a very, very long time
since I was in the position of having to scramble for a room in Vegas, but
in similar circumstances I have used discounters with success. They can
have availability at a given hotel even when reservations at that hotel
shows no availability. Be aware that many of these services allow no
cancellation or changes, so be very sure when booking.
