10 days ago I had the pleasure of trying one of their new restaurants
called
20Four. It's their new 24-hr cafe & it's where their Italian restaurant,
Primavera (?), used to be not far from the the elevators to the rooms.I'll give it high marks for a 24-hr cafe. I first tried it late at night &
had the pork chops which had a stuffing in it that I didn't expect. I like
my
pork chops plain so the stuffing didn't turn me on but I appreciated the
innovation and the addition of a lot of variety to the menu. Being pleased
with
the food and the service, I came back for lunch the next day and ordered the
New York steak dinner which was also very good. The Broiler Room is closed
for
remodeling but the quality of the steak dinner prompted me to advise them tokeep it closed. I also ordered an Angus burger to go. When I ate it the next
day, it was so good my evil twin made sure to finish it before my spouse
came
home so I wouldn't have to share. There is also a new Mexican restaurant but the hrs of my overnight stop did
not permit me to try it.As for the casino itself, the floor is being repopulated with a lot of
machines but no pick'em as far as I can see & I don't expect we will see thedeuces deluxe again.

It appears Columbia-Sussex, the new owner of Montbleu, is making strides to
improve the restaurants system wide. My last visit to Laughlin the River Palms
was touting new menus in the three restaurants.
I tried the coffee shop for lunch. Sure enough a new menu was presented.
There were several new selections. I did an old standby "pattie melt". It was
served on thick sturdy marbled rye bread and the meat was an upgrade. Steak
fries instead of wimpy skinny ones. I am looking forward to exploring these
new menus.
