XVP: Mon Ami Gabi vs Eiffel Tower Restaruant

My wife and I are celebrating our 5th anniversary this weekend. We were engaged in Paris, so I wanted to take her to one of these two restaurants for dinner. I've not been to either one. Can anyone offer any feedback on either or both in terms of how they compare/contrast?

Thanks!!

Both restaurants serve good food. Mon Ami Gabi is a casual atmosphere, with
more casual food (bistro food, whatever that might mean), and is less
expensive. A decent wine list of mostly French wine. The down side of the
restaurant is the noise level, a hellish din that makes it impossible to
have a conversation and requires one to shout at the server. It's all tile
floors and hard surfaces, amplifying the noise.

Eiffel Tower restaurant has a hushed atmosphere and elaborate preparations,
a luxury French restaurant with prices to match. It's very elegant with an
extensive wine selection. If you can score a table by the windows, you have
the best view of the Bellagio fountains. If price is not a concern, or if
you have plenty of reward credits, this provides a lovely romantic
atmosphere and a fine dining experience.

In short, polar opposites as to style, both serving good "French" food.
Take your pick.

I agree completely. The Eiffel Tower is the quintessential "romantic French restaurant". Mon Ami Gabi is much more relaxed both in ambiance and food choices. Neither is cheap, but Eiffel Tower will ding your wallet quite a bit harder than Mon Ami Gabi.

For a romantic anniversary dinner, with no set plans afterwards I would personally go with Eiffel Tower.

If a "funner" atmospere is more your thing, and you want to eat and maybe catch a show or something, Mon Ami Gabi would be the way to go.

We adore Mon Ami Gabi, but we are usually in LV in early spring or late fall when sitting outside is comfortable. We vastly prefer the patio to indoor seating, plus you can watch the Bellagio fountains.

So far we have not tried the Eiffel Tower Restaruant. Recently our expensive dining option of choice has been the Steakhouse at Circus Circus believe it or not.

I like Mon Ami. It's an LEY restaurant serving casual french fare...
seafood and thin sauced steaks with frites, among other things. I'm sure
you can rustle up a menu online with the help of mr. google. Service and
food have been good in my experience. Dining on the patio with the B's
fountain show and music in the background adds to the occasion.

Haven't dined at the tower restaurant, but it seems more of a fine dining
destination restaurant. I'd prefer Mon Ami, but could easily see why
someone might prefer the tower for a special occasion.

I'd like to suggest another alternative, if I may. There's a restaurant called Marche Bacchus which has very good reviews. My girlfriend and I have been there several times, and she often brings out-of-town visitors there. There's outdoor dining available on a patio overlooking a lake. The restaurant also sells wine, so there's an excellent variety for you to choose from. The place is in the Summerlin area. Here's the link: http://www.marchebacchus.com/flash/

My wife and I just came back from Vegas celebrating 18 years! Congrats on 5. We prefer nice food in a casual atmosphere and Mon Ami Gabi was perfect as we sat on the patio overlooking the Bellagio Fountains. They do not take reservations for the outside dining,so we got there around 5 and got a table right on the rail overlooking the street and fountains. Perfect! Only challenge is that it can get hot. Around 6 PM, the sun hides behind the Bellagio and that's when the evening was perfect.

Food was good, not great. The filet Mignon was the better of the two meals. Service outstanding.

Thank you all for your responses and suggestions. My wife and I ended up at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant and had a very enjoyable experience there. She liked the little table we had along the windows overlooking the Bellagio fountains, and we thought the service was just right (a nice balance between fun and casual vs stuffy and pretentious). The one thing I feared most was that the food wouldn't live up to the price, and that it would be more of a tourist trap than a good dining experience. Thankfully, I didn't find that to be the case.

For those of you who care, we had:

Crispy Farmstead Artisanal Camembert, Almond Apricot Petite Salad 14.95
Eiffel Tower Summer Salad, Shaved Vegetables, Banyuls Vinaigrette 16.95
Filet of Sea Bass, Fingerlings, Double Smoked Bacon, Crispy Potato, Petit Mache 42.95
Individual Eiffel Tower Beef Wellington, Sautéed Snap Peas 54.95
Classic Potato Gratin 8.95

We also had (without the benefit of having these menus available to me now) some sort of pear martini for the wife, a caramel souffle, a chocolate hazelnut case, a small chocolate mousse (compliments of the house), some petit fours, and coffee.

I think our total bill for the above, plus tax and grat, came to about $240.

The highlight for me was the beef wellington. It's one of my favourite meals, and it's hard to find a restaurant that does them, let alone one that does them well. Mine, alone, was worth the price of admission. I was also impressed by my wife's sea bass. And, we both were surprised at the large size of the entree portions. In any case, I'd say we left very satisfied, a little over stuffed, and quite happy.

Cheers,
Nathan
