XVP: Matzah on the strip?

During every Jewish holiday, the Fiesta Henderson buffet dedicates part of
the salad bar for
kosher foods, including a basket of matzah, lox, gelfite fish, and other
items I'm unfamiliar
with (I'm not Jewish). It's always worth a call to any buffet you plan on
eating in to see if they
do the same, since it would seem to be pretty easy for them to do.

Also on a daily basis, unrelated to holidays, the buffet at the Rampart has
a number of Jewish dishes, including tzimmis. Frequently they also have
gefilte fish balls and other delights.. chopped liver and so on. Definitely not
kosher would be my guess but nice they do it. Also recently two huge
barrels, one of dill pickles and one of pickled tomatoes.

As the late Buddy Hackett often said, "Until he left home and joined
the Army, thereby getting away from his Mother's cooking, he didn't
realize that it was not normal to have heartburn every day".

So, in addition to the delicacies described below, I suggest that
the "after dinner" table not be overlooked.

This table contains both Tums and Alka Selzer. These are provided by
a thoughtful management to combat the heartburn which often results
from consuming chopped liver laced with rendered chicken fat, and
gefulte fish with a very sharp horseradish garnish.

Also, on this table is a generous helping of delicious prunes. A
discreet sign suggests that eating a few prunes goes a long way
towards forestalling a build up of the "mortar" caused by the
consumption of too much Matzo. As another deceased Jewish comic
said, "Let my people go!"

In any event, Bon Appetit!

There'll be some groans (particularly about the length of this
thread!), but I thought this was pretty funny.

Fiesta has done the pickles, too, and I always enjoy them. The rest of it, not so much, though
I would assume that trying to expand my culinary experiences via a buffet is probably not the
best way to do so! As I said, I'm not Jewish, but can a buffet really do kosher foods? To be
truly kosher, don't you have to use an entirely separate set of utensils and cookware and even
stove/oven? Heck, up until recently, the Palms buffet didn't even have it's own kitchen,
preparing food elsewhere and bringing it to the buffet (they still may not; I'm not sure when
the new kitchen was supposed on being finished), and maybe other places are the same. So,
I guess my question is, do those who eat kosher, even just for holidays, eat out at all except
at designated restaurants? Would you "risk" it?

Just curious.
