XVP: Maid Service?

Is anyone using a maid service in Las Vegas that you would recommend? What
do I look for or what questions do I ask? What are the going rates? How
much time do they give you and what services do they provide? Any help
would be appreciated. Private response is fine too if you have a phone # to
share or something. Since a couple of my babysitters have gone on to
college and I've moved to a new area in North Las Vegas I'm also looking for
a babysitter or two. Thanks for any help.

I have an excellent housekeeper; she has been working for me for years and I couldn't live without her!!!! Very trustworthy - she has a key to our home!!!

Her name is Kathy Silverthorn and her # is 610-2353. Her rates depend on the size of the house and amount of work it needs, but I found her to be reasonable and gives hard work for the money.

She usually has a full schedule but because of the recession some of her clients have had to cut down or suspend her services, so I think she has some time periods open. She might do babysitting - I'm not sure. If she doesn't, e-mail me privately and I might have a babysitter recommendation.

You can tell her I recommended her.

Scot,

Rates run about $20/hr if you use a service like Molly Maids. Ask the person if they want to use your supplies or their own (or tell them if you have special cleaning products that you want to provide - like environmentally friendly stuff), and ask if that will affect the rate (sometimes you'll get a couple dollars knocked off to use your stuff). Ask if they make beds, fold laundry, do baseboards regularly or just once in awhile. Basically, find out what's standard and what you might have done just every once in awhile because it means paying extra. If for some reason Jean's recommendation doesn't work out, I used to use a woman I'd happily recommend who lives in North Las Vegas. I used her before I moved (and would have after, but was trying to save some money).
