The great and wonderful beauty of free enterprise is that it allows people
to help each other even when they don't like each other. That is, the
casinos can seek profits, the employees can seek paychecks, the customers
can seek entertainment value. When we come together, it allows us all to get
more of what we want than we could get without each other.
Sure, it's nice when people are so fond of me that they give me money out of
pure charity or affection. Until the whole world comes to its senses and
everyone starts giving me money for nothing, I'll find it necessary to get
what I want by relying on something other than the good will of others.
I could get a whole lot more of what I want by stealing it, say by forcing
my employer or other businesses to share their profits with me. But the
accumulated wisdom of humanity tells me that there's a downside to stealing.
What options does that leave? It turns out that letting people do honest
business however they please beats all the alternatives.

The casinos are in business to make ever increasing profits and
community and employees be damned.
