I didn't sign up for the last "do not call" effort a few years back, but
thought I may do so this time. Now I have telemarkters calling me more than ever.
I know it was supposed to take effect Oct 1st, but I never should've put my
numbers on that list. MCI calls each of my 3 numbers every day, sometimes
twice. I know they say to report them, but to whom and how? They never tell you
the details. I've asked each company to not call me again, but it's all a big
joke.
Even if this ruling is overturned, I wouldn't bother again.

First if you do business with MCI they can still contact you.
Second if you ask MCI to add you to "their companies internal do not
call list" they should stop. I've had very good luck with this and
specifically with MCI. Every company is required by law to keep a
internal list.
I used to receive about 30 calls a day because I'm at home all day
and night. I signed up for the Texas do not call list about 8
months ago and I can't remember the last call I got. I signed up
for the government list as a secondary precaution because it was
free and only took about 10 seconds.

We have had a do not call law here in Colorado for some time and it works.
