XVP-live poker rakes

On this topic - how much is the 'rake'/house drop on most live limit
games?
I.E. - for a standard $3/6 game out here in CA (with Bad Beat
jackpot),they rake $3 - big blind and $1 small blind goes to the
jackpot. Some places rake $1 MORE after bets on Turn and River.

What are standards for LV casinos? probably depends on the size of
the poker room??

Any info. appreciated.

Martin:

For low limit poker California Poker Rooms have terrible rakes,
making the game almost unbeatable (in my opinion). The fact that
they usually drop the rake on any pot with a flop means that - for
small pots - the rake can reach astronomical levels of 20% or even
more.

You'll find that the drop is much fairer in Las Vegas (and Reno) for
low limit poker games. Generally, the standard is "10% of the pot up
to $2.50 max" or something similar. Even if the pot is small the
rake never gets above 10%. Some clubs may vary their max rake
depending on the game . . . for example, a $2.00 max rake at holdem
and $3 max rake at seven card stud is common. In Reno, the Cal Neva
Club downtown rakes only 5%, but I'm not aware of any clubs in Las
Vegas that have a 5% rake.

In California you pretty much have to play large games to have much
of a chance to beat the rake (again, in my opinion). Their large
drop is not nearly as big a hit, on a percentage basis, when you are
playing $8-$16 or bigger games.
